Job Description : FOOD PROCESSING PLANT MANAGER KENYA A Food Processing Plant Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation of a food production facility. This role involves overseeing the entire production process, ensuring quality standards are met, managing staff, and maintaining compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements. The position demands a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the food processing industry to ensure that production targets are met and exceeded. Food Processing Plant Manager Responsibilities & Duties Oversee daily operations of the food processing plant Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations Manage production schedules to meet customer demands Supervise and train plant staff Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed Implement and enforce quality control standards Coordinate maintenance and repair of plant equipment Develop and manage the plant budget Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement Collaborate with other departments such as procurement, distribution, and marketing Implement cost-saving initiatives Ensure efficient inventory management Conduct regular inspections of the plant Respond to and resolve production issues in a timely manner Maintain records of all production and safety activities Develop and implement plant policies and procedures Ensure compliance with environmental regulations Foster a positive and productive work environment Participate in strategic planning and decision-making Communicate effectively with senior management and stakeholders Food Processing Plant Manager Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field MBA or advanced degree 10+ years of experience in food processing or manufacturing Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, and other food safety standards Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies Proven ability to manage large teams Excellent problem-solving skills Strong project management experience Proficiency in ERP software and other relevant technology Exceptional communication and leadership skills Experience in budget management Knowledge of sustainable and environmentally friendly practices Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, or a related field 5+ years of experience in food processing or manufacturing Knowledge of food safety regulations Strong leadership and management skills Ability to analyze and interpret production data Excellent organizational skills Strong attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Good problem-solving skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards
