Job Description : CFO UAE The Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) provides strategic financial leadership and direction to support the growth and sustainability. The CFO is responsible for overseeing the Company’s finance, procurement, and technology functions, with dotted line responsibility for the cost control function. In addition to leading financial planning, reporting, and governance, the CFO is expected to take a hands-on role in day-to-day operations, directly supporting project execution, managing cash flow, and ensuring strong financial discipline across the business. This role requires a leader who can balance strategic vision with hands-on financial management, ensuring strong financial discipline in a project-driven, fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement financial/ procurement and technology strategies aligned with the company’s business goals. • Advise the CEO and Board on financial performance, risk management, and long term planning. • Monitor daily cash flow, collections, payables, and project expenditures. • Review major project cost reports, variations, budget overruns and invoicing. • Resolve ongoing and urgent finance, procurement and technology related issues in collaboration with project teams. • Lead negotiations with banks and other key stakeholders. • Oversee preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business planning. • Implement and maintain strong internal controls, accounting, procurement and technology policies, and risk management systems. • Manage liquidity, working capital, and financial resources to ensure smooth operations. • Build and sustain strong relationships with banks, auditors, and other stakeholders. • Negotiate financing arrangements, facilities, and project-related funding requirements. • Ensure compliance with VAT, corporate tax, labour laws, and other UAE regulatory requirements. • Oversee statutory reporting, audits, and liaison with external auditors. • Introduce and strengthen risk management practices to safeguard company assets. • Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance, Procurement and Technology teams, fostering accountability and high performance. • Collaborate with department heads to drive business growth and operational excellence. Key Competencies • Ability to combine strategic leadership with hands on financial management. • Strong expertise in financial planning, procurement practices and the latest technology and cyber risk trends, analysis, and reporting. • In-depth knowledge of project accounting and cost control in construction/ contracting. • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. • Strong commercial acumen to support tenders, bids and negotiations where appropriate. • High integrity, resilience, and sound decision-making capability. Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (Master’s/ MBA preferred). • Professional certification (CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA) highly desirable. • Minimum 15 years of progressive financial experience, with at least 8 years in a senior leadership role (preferably within contracting/ construction in the UAE/ GCC). • Strong knowledge of UAE financial regulations, VAT, and corporate tax. • Proven track record of managing finance in a project-based environment.
