12 yearsJob Description : Plant Manager (Milk powder reconstitution - based dairy plant) DRC Salary: Negotiable Contract: 2 Years Reports To: General Manager / Operations Director Supervises: Production Head, Technical Head, Quality Head, Shift Supervisors, Maintenance Team. 1. Role Purpose - To manage and oversee the complete operations of a milk powder reconstitution-based dairy plant - ensuring efficient production, technical reliability, and quality compliance for reconstituted milk and value-added products. - The Plant Manager ensures cost-effective use of powder, water, packaging, and utilities while maintaining strict food safety standards. 2. Key Responsibilities: A. Production & Operations • Oversee reconstitution of milk powder into liquid milk (with standardization for fat/SNF). • Supervise blending, mixing, homogenization, pasteurization/UHT and packaging operations. • Optimize usage of milk powder, sugar, stabilizers, flavors, and other inputs to minimize wastage. • Ensure packaging lines (pouches, tetra packs, bottles) run efficiently with minimum downtime. • Plan daily/weekly production volumes based on market demand. B. Technical & Maintenance • Oversee technical team for boiler, refrigeration plant, compressors, and CIP systems. • Ensure preventive maintenance of spray dryers (if used), blending tanks, homogenizers, and packaging machines. • Coordinate with engineers for breakdown maintenance and spares availability. C. Quality & Compliance • Ensure reconstituted milk meets national/international quality norms (FSSAI/ISO/HACCP). • Supervise lab testing for microbiology, adulterants, reconstitution ratio, and shelf-life. • Maintain strict hygiene, sanitation (CIP), and GMP standards. • Prepare and face regulatory, internal, and customer audits. D. People Management • Lead a workforce of ~50–70 (operators, technicians, QA, helpers). • Train staff in powder handling, reconstitution process, hygiene, and safety. • Motivate teams to achieve productivity and minimize wastage. E. Administration & Reporting • Track daily powder consumption vs. output for cost control • Maintain inventory records of powder, packaging material, and additives • Monitor utilities (steam, electricity, water) per liter of reconstituted milk • Submit daily and monthly MIS to management 3. Qualifications & Skills • Education: B.Tech / M.Tech in Dairy Technology, Food Processing, Mechanical/Electrical Eng. with dairy/FMCG background. • Experience: 8–12 years in dairy/food plant operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role • Knowledge Areas: Powder reconstitution, pasteurization/UHT, packaging lines (FFS, Tetra Pak, PET), HACCP/ISO 22000, utilities. • Skills: Leadership, cost optimization, planning, troubleshooting.
