General Manager

Job Description : to: Ethiopians and Expats Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia About the Role General Manager to lead a state-of-the-art Edible Oil Plant in Ethiopia — a flagship venture that processes oilseeds into crude edible oil for international markets. This is a high-impact leadership role with full operational and commercial responsibility. The GM will oversee all core functions including production, sourcing, logistics, quality, sales, and finance, driving the company toward profitability, growth, and long-term sustainability. Key Responsibilities Lead the edible oil plant toward profitability, operational excellence & growth. Own full P&L responsibility & oversee all commercial and strategic decisions. Manage end-to-end operations — sourcing, production, quality, logistics, & exports. Drive continuous improvement, efficiency & compliance with global standards. Develop & execute a 3–5-year roadmap for business expansion & diversification. Identify new export markets & build strong buyer and supplier relationships. Oversee pricing, financial performance, and risk management. Build & inspire a high-performing team with a culture of accountability & results. Qualifications 8+ years in operations or general management within manufacturing or agro-processing, including 3+ years in senior leadership. Bachelor’s in Engineering, Agribusiness, or Business; MBA preferred. Proven experience managing export-oriented manufacturing operations in Ethiopia or East Africa. Strong P&L ownership, supply chain expertise & quality systems knowledge. Excellent English communication skills and commercial acumen. International exposure is an advantage.
