Project Control Head
20 yearsJob Description : Project Control Head – EPC (Oil & Gas) India & Abroad Role Purpose: To lead and manage all Project Control functions—Planning, Cost Control, Scheduling, Progress Monitoring, Risk Management, and Reporting—for EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) Oil & Gas projects. Ensure project execution aligns with baseline targets for cost, schedule, and quality. Key Responsibilities: 1. Planning & Scheduling Develop, review, and maintain the Project Master Schedule (PMS) in Primavera (P6) or equivalent software. Define project milestones, critical paths, and key deliverables across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover phases. Integrate sub-schedules (engineering, procurement, construction) into a unified Level 1–4 master plan. 2. Cost Control & Budgeting Establish project cost baselines in coordination with finance and project managers. Track and control budget vs. actual costs, analyze variances, and forecast cost to completion (CTC). Review contractor invoices, change orders, and claims for accuracy and compliance. 3. Progress Monitoring & Reporting Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports (physical and financial). Maintain S-curves, histograms, and KPIs for manpower, productivity, and cost performance. Provide EVM (Earned Value Management) analysis for schedule and cost deviations. 4. Risk Management Identify and assess project risks, prepare risk registers, and develop mitigation strategies. Conduct regular project reviews to ensure proactive risk control. 5. Change & Claims Management Monitor and control project scope changes. Support the preparation and evaluation of change orders, extensions of time (EOTs), and contractor claims. 6. Coordination & Leadership Lead and mentor project control teams across planning, cost, and document control functions. Coordinate closely with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, QA/QC, HSE, and Finance departments. Support Project Director in client and management presentations. 7. Systems & Tools Ensure consistent use of project control systems and tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, SAP, Excel). Implement standard procedures, templates, and dashboards for project control. Qualifications & Experience: Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or equivalent engineering discipline. Experience: Minimum 20–30 years in project controls within EPC / Oil & Gas / Petrochemical projects. Software Skills: Primavera P6, MS Project, SAP, Excel (Advanced), Power BI (preferred).
