Organization Overview A specialty pharmaceutical manufacturer focused on developing and commercializing differentiated liquid dosage therapies for Medical Dysphagia and major therapy areas including Cardiovascular, Metabolic, Neuropsychiatric, and Oncology. The organization uses a partner-driven commercial model, generating most revenue through US partnerships and the remainder from UK/EU, while leveraging contract development partners in India for product development. Operations include a UK manufacturing site (~110 employees) and an India-based technical office (~30 employees), with ambitious expansion underway into additional markets. ???? Job Purpose The COO oversees all operational, technical, and commercial aspects of the business—ensuring strategy execution, operational excellence, and growth, while collaborating with internal and external partners across markets. ????? Key Responsibilities ???? Strategic Leadership & Business Growth Shape expansion strategy by identifying new product opportunities in Medical Dysphagia and other advanced liquid dosage forms. Lead commercial partnerships with global distribution partners to maximize revenue. Direct new product development alongside contract development and research teams, prioritizing innovations for unmet medical needs. Evaluate and execute on in-licensing, co-development, and M&A opportunities to build the product pipeline. ?? Operational & Manufacturing Excellence Oversee UK manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance, cost-efficiency, and scalable growth. Optimize supply chain and procurement in alignment with development and manufacturing partners. Manage tech transfers, regulatory submissions (e.g., USFDA, MHRA, EMA), and collaborations for timely product launches. ???? Financial & Commercial Oversight Coordinate with finance to manage overall P&L, budgeting, and cost optimization. Drive revenue growth through strategic market expansion and partnerships. Monitor pricing, contracts, and the profitability of commercial agreements. ????? Regulatory, Quality & Compliance Ensure compliance with global cGMP, FDA, MHRA, and other regulatory standards. Oversee quality management systems, audits, and compliance across manufacturing and supply chains. Proactively address risks related to quality, regulatory inspections, and pharmacovigilance. ????????? Qualifications & Experience Advanced degree in Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, or relevant fields. 15+ years' leadership experience in pharmaceutical operations, manufacturing, and commercial strategy ideally within liquid dosage forms. ????
