Job Description : General Manager (Retail Store – FMCG) JAMAICA Work Experience: Minimum 10–12 Years Qualification: Any Graduate About the Organization: A reputed FMCG retail store offering a wide range of grocery and household products. The organization focuses on delivering excellent customer experience, quality products, and maintaining strong vendor relationships while operating with efficiency and compliance at all levels. About the Role: The General Manager (Retail Store – FMCG) will be responsible for the overall operations, sales performance, financial management, vendor coordination, and customer experience of the retail store. The role demands strong leadership, operational efficiency, and the ability to drive sales growth while ensuring compliance with all organizational and statutory norms. Key Role Objectives: A. Store Operations Management Ensure timely opening and closing of the store as per SOP. Maintain optimum store ambience, cleanliness, hygiene, and safety. Conduct daily store walk-throughs to review displays, stock replenishment, and presentation. Oversee cash counter operations and reconciliation. Enforce fire safety, loss prevention, and security protocols. Ensure maintenance of electrical, IT, and store infrastructure. B. Sales & Target Management Conduct daily team briefings with sales targets and operational updates. Monitor hourly/daily sales vs. targets and take corrective actions. Improve sales via upselling, cross-selling, and promotions. Track and report scheme performance and customer feedback. C. Staff Management Manage attendance, rosters, and shift scheduling. Supervise deployment across store sections. Allocate responsibilities: stock management, GRN, vendor follow-ups. Enforce grooming, service, and conduct standards. Provide on-the-job training and mentoring. D. Inventory & Stock Management Review daily stock positions and expiry status. Prepare stock orders and coordinate with vendors. Verify GRN entries, expiry returns, and pilferage checks. Conduct stock audits and variance reconciliations. E. Vendor Management Maintain vendor relationships for pricing, supply, and credit. Negotiate schemes, discounts, and delivery schedules. Follow up on deliveries, replacements, and returns. Identify new vendors for cost and assortment improvements. F. Financial Management & MIS Reporting Monitor daily collections and reconciliations. Deposit collections and maintain financial records. Prepare and submit daily/weekly MIS reports (sales, purchase, payments, stock, scheme performance). Ensure accuracy and timely submission of data. G. Customer Experience Management Deliver excellent customer service and resolve complaints promptly. Supervise billing speed, stock availability, and store ambience. Record and analyze customer feedback for improvements. H. Compliance & Legal Ensure compliance with FSSAI, fire safety, and municipal norms. Maintain records of sales, purchase, GRN, expiry returns, and expenses. Conduct checks for fire extinguishers, emergency exits, and safety. I. Marketing & Promotions Implement promotional campaigns from head office. Monitor promotion performance and customer response. Suggest localized marketing activities. J. Miscellaneous Handle additional duties assigned by management. Attend training sessions and head office meetings. Basic Requirements: Qualification: Any Graduate. Work Experience: Minimum 10–12 years in FMCG retail store management. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent knowledge of sales, operations, and inventory control. Good negotiation and vendor management skills. Proficiency in MS Office and retail management systems. Strong customer service orientation.
