Job Description : SERVICE ENGINEER DRC FOR CATERPILLAR The Service Engineer will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance, maintenance, and repair of Caterpillar (CAT) heavy equipment used in large-scale infrastructure and road construction projects. The role involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support to minimize equipment downtime and maximize productivity Key Responsibilities: Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of Caterpillar machines such as excavators, dozers, graders, wheel loaders, dump trucks, and generators. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and engine-related faults using CAT diagnostic tools (e.g., CAT ET, SIS). Ensure all repairs are completed to Caterpillar service standards. Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Identify faults and carry out timely repairs to minimize downtime. Utilize diagnostic software and service manuals for accurate problem identification and resolution. Service Planning & Documentation: Prepare maintenance schedules and service reports. Maintain accurate service records, repair logs, and parts consumption data. Coordinate with the spare parts department for required components. Field Support: Provide on-site service support to project locations across Nigeria. Train and guide operators and technicians on equipment care and minor maintenance. Safety & Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety and environmental standards. Conduct regular inspections and recommend preventive measures to avoid breakdowns. Key Equipment Exposure: CAT Excavators (320D, 330D, 336D, etc.) CAT Dozers (D6, D7, D8 series) CAT Motor Graders (140K, 140H, etc.) CAT Wheel Loaders (950H, 966H, etc.) CAT Dumpers and Generators Desired Profile: Qualification: Diploma / Degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering Experience: Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in maintenance and service of Caterpillar earthmoving and construction equipment. Prior experience in infrastructure / road / mining projects preferred. Experience in overseas (Africa / Middle East) projects will be an added advantage. Skills: Strong knowledge of CAT equipment systems – hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain. Proficiency in using CAT diagnostic software (ET & SIS). Ability to work independently in remote project sites. Good communication and reporting skills. Compensation: Net Savings $2500 - $3000 + Accommodation + Transport + Medical + Return Ticket every 6 months
