Job Description : Head – Cosmetics & R&D Location: Kinshasa, Africa Reporting To: Directors Status: Family Status Experience: 10–15 Years | Age: 40–45 Years Industry Preference: Cosmetics / FMCG About the Role An established cosmetics and personal care company in Africa is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Cosmetics & R&D to lead its product innovation, formulation, and research functions. The role demands strong technical expertise, leadership, and strategic insight to drive product excellence and innovation. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute R&D strategies aligned with business goals. Lead product formulation and innovation for skincare, makeup, and haircare categories. Ensure compliance with international quality and regulatory standards (FDA, EU, GMP, ISO). Collaborate with marketing, production, and sales teams to bring products from concept to market. Manage and mentor a team of scientists, chemists, and technicians. Oversee supplier coordination, new ingredient sourcing, and intellectual property management. Qualifications Mandatory: Bachelor’s/Master’s in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or related field. Preferred:Ph.D. or MBA for combined technical and business expertise. Skills Required Mandatory: Strong knowledge of cosmetic chemistry, formulation science, and stability testing. Expertise in global regulatory and quality compliance (FDA, EU, GMP, ISO). Proven track record of successful product development and launches. Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills. Desirable: Experience with natural/organic formulations and sustainable practices. Familiarity with IP, patents, and formulation software. African market experience preferred.
