General Manager / Chief of Operations

Job Description : General Manager / Chief of Operations Industry: FMCG Route-to-Market Van Sales Distribution CTC Range: USD $7,000 $7,500 per month (All-Inclusive) Location: East Africa Job Summary: We are seeking a seasoned and visionary General Manager / Chief of Operations with extensive experience in managing full-scale operations of FMCG businesses engaged in Route-to-Market (RTM) van sales distribution. The ideal candidate will drive strategic execution, business profitability, operational excellence, and ensure high-performance standards across departments. Familiarity with ERP platforms such as Odoo or SAP B1 is essential. Key Responsibilities: · Lead and manage the end-to-end operations of the business unit, including Sales, Supply Chain, Warehousing, Distribution, and Administration. · Strategically plan and oversee RTM distribution channels to ensure market penetration and revenue growth. · Develop and execute business strategies in line with company goals and market trends. · Lead cross-functional teams to drive productivity, efficiency, and compliance with standard operating procedures. · Analyze operational performance and drive continuous improvement through KPIs and metrics. · Implement and oversee ERP systems (preferably Odoo or SAP B1) to streamline workflows and ensure data integrity. · Manage budgets, financial forecasting, and ensure cost controls across the business unit. · Liaise with the Board/Directors for periodic business reviews and long-term planning. · Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and high performance among teams. Education & Experience Requirements: · Educational Qualification: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field (Mandatory). MBA or Master’s in Operations / Logistics / General Management preferred. · Experience: Minimum 10–15 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing an FMCG business unit. Proven expertise in Route-to-Market van sales operations and ERP systems such as Odoo or SAP B1.
