General Manager

Job Description : General Manager - Garments Location: Tanzania Monthly Salary: $2,000 to $3,000 Key Responsibilities: · Oversee all factory operations and daily garment production targets with quality compliance. · Monitor production planning, material flow, machine utilization, and ensure operational efficiency. · Drive continuous improvement in production processes and resource utilization. · Ensure strict quality control, minimal alterations, and on-time shipments. · Coordinate closely with merchandising, procurement, design, and sales teams. · Maintain and monitor production schedules, cost control, and inventory management. · Implement lean manufacturing principles and process improvements. · Lead and mentor production teams; ensure capacity utilization and minimize waste. · Maintain safety protocols and compliance with regulatory standards. · Prepare and submit periodic production reports to top management. · Communicate effectively with buyers and QC teams; resolve any production-related issues. · Oversee recruitment, staff control, salary fixation, and team performance management. Key Requirements: · Bachelors or Masters Degree in Textile Engineering or a relevant field. · Minimum 8 years experience in an apparel or ready-made garment factory. · Strong expertise in garment operations, quality assurance, and production planning. · Prior experience in managing large production floors and garment lines. · Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills. · Ability to manage costing, inventory, inspection, and final output from raw material to finish. · Exposure to African markets or basic Kiswahili language is a plus. · Age below 55 years preferred.
