Job Description : GM TANZANIA General Manager Min. Experience: 12+ years Location of posting: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (Africa) Organization Name : Industrial Packaging Ltd The main purpose of this role is to provide leadership and oversight of the banks International Banking operations to ensure that they are carried out in accordance with all regulatory, legal, and government regulations. The role holder has the overall accountability to oversee the management of relationships with correspondence banks and remittance service providers to facilitate remittance processes including developing terms of agreement/ Memorandums of Understanding and resolving any arising disputes. Key Responsibilities: 1.1 Planning and Production Head the daily planning and production activities of the company. Report to management on a real-time basis on production planning status, ensuring all logged sales orders are captured in the planning sheet. Prepare machine allocation plans for production in coordination with the Production Manager. Ensure effective utilization of machine capacities, avoiding any under-utilisation. Plan and direct production activities while maintaining operational efficiency and controlling production costs. Implement, monitor, and update production schedules to meet customer deadlines without deviations. Review and circulate daily/weekly/monthly production reports, including: Machine utilisation Machine speed Wastages Section-wise output Conduct daily meetings with the Production Manager and production team to discuss daily plans, targets, and critical actions, and share outcomes with management. 1.2 Enhancement of Production and Wastage Reduction Drive the Production Manager and production team to enhance productivity and minimize wastage. Remain closely involved in daily production activities to ensure zero wastage across all processes. Ensure there are no loopholes in manpower deployment and share daily reports on machine and manpower utilisation. Implement and monitor continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen) to enhance productivity. Oversee the Maintenance Manager and maintenance team to ensure timely repair, preventive maintenance, and upkeep of all machines. 1.0 Sales Monitoring Monitor the sales team to ensure monthly sales targets are consistently achieved. Create a strong reporting linkage between Sales and Production to ensure production and dispatch deadlines mentioned in sales orders are met without deviations. Collaborate with Sales to ensure packaging solutions meet customer and brand requirements with zero quality defects (no NCs due to quality issues). Drive product innovation and development in line with market trends, including sustainable materials and relevant new technologies. Maintain strong relationships with clients, alongside Sales, to ensure cost-effectiveness, high quality, and timely delivery of materials. 1.3 Finance Monitoring Monitor the Finance team to ensure timely and accurate monthly financial closing and MIS reporting. Oversee and review financial budgets, resource allocation, and cost structures with responsibility for overall profitability (P&L management).
