Job Description : GM EAST AFRICA General Manager / Chief of Operations Industry: FMCG Route-to-Market Van Sales Distribution CTC Range: USD $7,000 $7,500 per month (All-Inclusive) Location: East Africa Job Summary: We are seeking a seasoned and visionary General Manager / Chief of Operations with extensive experience in managing full-scale operations of FMCG businesses engaged in Route-to-Market (RTM) van sales distribution. The ideal candidate will drive strategic execution, business profitability, operational excellence, and ensure high-performance standards across departments. Familiarity with ERP platforms such as Odoo or SAP B1 is essential. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the end-to-end operations of the business unit, including Sales, Supply Chain, Warehousing, Distribution, and Administration. Strategically plan and oversee RTM distribution channels to ensure market penetration and revenue growth. Develop and execute business strategies in line with company goals and market trends. Lead cross-functional teams to drive productivity, efficiency, and compliance with standard operating procedures. Analyze operational performance and drive continuous improvement through KPIs and metrics. Implement and oversee ERP systems (preferably Odoo or SAP B1) to streamline workflows and ensure data integrity. Manage budgets, financial forecasting, and ensure cost controls across the business unit. Liaise with the Board/Directors for periodic business reviews and long-term planning. Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and high performance among teams. Education & Experience Requirements: Educational Qualification: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field (Mandatory). MBA or Master’s in Operations / Logistics / General Management preferred. Experience: Minimum 10–15 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing an FMCG business unit. Proven expertise in Route-to-Market van sales operations and ERP systems such as Odoo or SAP B1.
