Job Description : Finance & Accounts Lead - Pharmaceuticals/FMCG (Lagos, Nigeria) A leading, privately owned pharmaceutical business with a 40-year legacy of trust across Africa is seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance & Accounts professional to oversee all financial and fiscal management aspects of their Nigeria operations. Location: Lagos, Nigeria Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will provide leadership in financial planning & analysis, taxation, control & compliance efforts. Key expectations include: Managing the financial activities of the Operating Unit (OU), undertaking periodical analysis, and reporting insights to shape strategic direction. Collaborating with functional heads to provide consultative support for designing regional operating plans and monitoring performance KPIs. Analyzing cash flow, cost, and expenses to create business insights. Analyzing financial statements to identify and mitigate potential risks/exposure. Ensuring book-keeping is maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards. Managing relationships with statutory, tax regulators, and internal auditors. Ensuring proper tax planning and compliance with local tax laws for the region. Building robust internal control processes and SOPs. Mitigating forex risk using available hedging mechanisms. Essential Qualifications & Skills Education: Tertiary finance & account qualifications such as CA preferred, with a minimum secondary qualification such as B. Com. Experience: 12-15 years of experience in the pharmaceuticals, retail, or consumer goods industry. A minimum of 3 years in a regional finance business partner role is mandatory. Prior experience working in Africa is preferred. Mandatory exposure to ERP Systems such as MS Navision, SAP, and high proficiency in MS Office. Must be a self-starter with the ability to stay independently motivated and deliver the assigned mandate. Experience working cross-culturally and cross-functionally.
