Job Description : WORKSHOP MANAGER EAST AFRICA 15+ years experience USD 2500 A senior leadership position, the Workshop Manager is in charge of overseeing all aspects of workshop operations for a fleet of about seventy vehicles, guaranteeing cost-effectiveness, operational dependability, and safety compliance Preventative maintenance planning, technical supervision, workflow management, and adherence to governance in all workshop functions are all under the purview of this position Developing and carrying out thorough preventative maintenance plans, identifying complicated mechanical problems, and managing a group of mechanics to provide fixes that adhere to strict quality and safety requirements are among the major duties The role oversees ERP-based work card approvals, keeps an eye on inventory movement, verifies the use of spare parts, and enforces policies to stop asset loss, theft, and misuse To promote accountability, efficiency, and transparency, the workshop manager creates standard operating procedures, reporting systems, and organized processes Senior management receives weekly operational information on worker productivity, maintenance expenses, vehicle downtime, and parts consumption The position collaborates closely with the finance and procurement departments to match maintenance schedules, budgetary restrictions, and part availability The ideal applicant is well-versed in heavy vehicle maintenance, diesel engines, OEM versus aftermarket parts, and practical expertise with Toyota 70 series platforms It is necessary to have a strong reporting culture and a disciplined, moral leader who does not tolerate corruption Excel and ERP system expertise are crucial for operational tracking, analysis, and reporting Operational ownership, direct team leadership, and hands-on supervision are required for this on-site post in East Africa It provides the chance to construct a highly effective, well-run workshop while guaranteeing fleet performance, compliance, and sustainability, fulfilling the board's and senior management's strategic requirements Qualification : - Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Industrial Management, or related field (Masters preferred) KEYWORDS : - Workshop Manager, Fleet Maintenance, Diesel Vehicles, Heavy Vehicles Workshop, Mechanic Supervision, Toyota 70 Series, ERP Job Cards, Vehicle Diagnostics, Preventive Maintenance, Spare Parts Validation, Workshop Operations, Fleet Repair, Automotive Workshop Manager
