Job Description : Production Manager -Soap Location: Kenya - Mombasa, Kikambala Reporting to: Sr. Manager Operations Reported by : Senior Executive Soap plant & FAP, Executive Finishing line The ideal candidate should have : ? Expertise in Fatty Acid and Distillation Plant operations ? Knowledge of the Continuous Saponification Process ? Experience in Finishing Line Processes ? Familiarity with Cosmetic Product Manufacturing ? Understanding of Vacuum & Pressure Systems ? Compliance knowledge of ISO 22000 and ISO 22716 ? Strong proficiency in both written and verbal English KRA's : ? Creating and managing departmental budgets. ? Development and implementation of growth strategies in production. ? Training on current good manufacturing practices & ISO 22716 standards and ensure CAPAs implementation. ? Reports generation and Presentation. ? Overseeing daily production process. ? Performance appraisal of subordinates. ? Disciplinary Action. Job Purpose: ? To oversee and manage the entire production process, ensuring that production goals are met efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality standards, Statutory and regulatory standards relevant to the industry. ? To Lead and coordinate production teams, Optimize processes, and maintain Quality Standards to ensure consistent and efficient production. ? Ensuring that goods are produced efficiently, on time, and within budget while maintaining quality standards. Qualification & Experience required : ? Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, manufacturing, operations management) ? A minimum of 10 years experience in plant engineering and food technology. ? Prior experience in FMCG. Oils fats and Soap most preferable. Key Tasks and Responsibilities ? Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet production targets, customer demands, and inventory levels. Coordinate with other departments, such as sales and logistics, to align production with market demands. ? Manage and allocate resources effectively, including manpower, equipment, and materials. Ensure that staffing levels and skillsets match production needs. ? To oversee quality control processes to ensure that oil products meet or exceed specified quality standards and regulatory requirements. Implement quality assurance measures and continuous improvement initiatives. ? To enforce and promote safety protocols and practices within the production area. Conduct safety training, audits, and investigations to maintain a safe working environment. ? To ensure Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards are maintained in the department. ? To conduct regular training sessions on the various Standard operating procedures (SOPs) to supervisors and production teams. ? Coordinate equipment maintenance schedules, repairs, and upgrades. Minimize downtime by ensuring that all machinery and equipment are well-maintained and operational. ? Identify opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, and cost efficiency. Implement best practices and lean manufacturing principles to enhance production workflows. ? Ensure that the production process adheres to all relevant regulations, industry standards, and environmental requirements. Stay up to date with changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments. ? Lead and develop a team of production supervisors, operators, and support staff. Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations to foster a high- performing and motivated workforce. ? To prepare and present production reports monthly. ? Monitor and control production-related expenses to ensure that the department operates within budget constraints. ? Initiate, develop, implement, evaluate effectiveness, and document actions to ensure sustainability of ISO 22716 cGMP and any other relevant ISO standard. Remuneration Structure: Tax free Net Savings + Local Salary for Food expenses. Furnished Accommodation, with all utilities, Electricity and water paid by company.
