20 yearsJob Description : Sales Manager – Building Materials & Hardware Location: Sierra Leone Reports to: General Manager / Country Head Compensation: $2,000 USD Net + Incentives Job Summary The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth across a diverse portfolio of building materials and hardware products. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage a large-scale distribution network, negotiate high-value contracts with construction firms, and maintain rigorous financial oversight of sales accounts. The ideal candidate will leverage 15+ years of corporate experience to establish the brand as a market leader in West Africa. Key Responsibilities 1. Sales Strategy & Market Expansion Revenue Generation: Develop and execute monthly and annual sales plans for product lines including Paints, Hardware Fittings, Plywood, Locks, and Construction Chemicals. Network Development: Appoint and manage a robust network of retail dealers and wholesalers across Freetown and regional provinces. Key Account Management: Directly manage relationships with top-tier construction companies, contractors, and government infrastructure projects. 2. Financial & Operational Oversight Credit & Collection: Utilize SAP/Tally expertise to monitor outstanding payments and ensure timely collections from dealers to maintain a healthy cash flow. Inventory Control: Coordinate with the warehouse team to manage stock levels of high- demand items like Cement and Roof Top Sheets, preventing stock-outs or overstocking. Pricing Strategy: Conduct regular market analysis to stay competitive on pricing while protecting profit margins. 3. Team Leadership Mentorship: Lead, train, and motivate a field sales team to hit aggressive KPIs. Culture: Foster a "friendly yet disciplined" working environment, ensuring accountability and high performance. 4. Technical Support & Promotion Product Knowledge: Provide technical advice to clients on the application of Construction Chemicals and Paints. Brand Visibility: Organize product demos for contractors and represent the company at regional trade fairs. Required Skills & Qualifications Experience: 15+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, and/or Sales Management. Tech Savvy: Advanced proficiency in SAP ERP and Tally ERP 9.0. Core Competencies: Negotiation, Supply Chain Management, Market Research, and Financial Reporting.
