Job Description : General Manager – PVC Pipes Manufacturing Industry: PVC/CPVC Pipes & Fittings / Building Materials / Manufacturing Location: Jeddah, Saudi Arabia Department: Executive Management Reports To: CEO Job Summary The General Manager will lead, develop, and manage all manufacturing, commercial, and operational functions of the PVC Pipes plant. The role ensures production efficiency, commercial growth, quality assurance, profitability, and strategic market expansion. The GM is responsible for driving operational excellence, optimizing cost, and improving competitive positioning in local and export markets. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership Develop and execute long-term strategies for business growth and market expansion Set annual business plans, budgets, sales targets, and production KPIs Monitor market trends, competitors, and pricing to maintain a competitive advantage 2. Operations & Manufacturing Oversee production planning, extrusion, molding, and packaging processes Ensure alignment with TQM/Lean/TPM manufacturing practices Drive productivity improvements, waste reduction, and machine utilization Ensure compliance with product standards (e.g., SASO, ASTM, DIN, ISO) 3. Sales & Business Development Build and manage commercial strategies for local and export sales Engage with distributors, contractors, project clients, and government entities Achieve sales targets and margin goals across product lines (PVC/CPVC/HDPE where applicable) 4. Financial Management Prepare and control operational and CAPEX budgets Analyze P&L, cost structures, and financial performance Improve profitability through cost optimization, pricing strategies, and supply chain control 5. Supply Chain & Procurement Manage procurement of raw materials (PVC resin, additives, masterbatch, packaging, etc.) Drive supplier relationships, contracts, and negotiations Ensure continuity of materials with optimal cost and quality 6. Quality & Compliance Maintain quality control and testing processes as per industry and regulatory standards Coordinate with certification bodies and ensure compliance with SASO, ISO, and environmental regulations 7. People & Organizational Management Lead and develop cross-functional teams: Production, Sales, Maintenance, QA/QC, Supply Chain, HR, Finance Oversee manpower planning, recruitment, coaching, and performance evaluation Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement 8. Maintenance & Technical Development Ensure preventive & corrective maintenance of extrusion lines and dies Evaluate investments in new machinery and technology upgrades Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or similar); MBA preferred 15–20+ years of relevant experience in PVC/CPVC pipes manufacturing (minimum 5 years in senior leadership) Strong knowledge of extrusion technology, material formulations, and pipe standards Proven track record in managing P&L, operations, and commercial functions Skills & Competencies Leadership & decision-making Strategic planning & execution Market and commercial acumen Financial analysis and budgeting Lean manufacturing & continuous improvement Negotiation & problem solving Communication & stakeholder management KPIs / Performance Indicators Revenue & profitability Production output & machine utilization Market share & sales growth Cost optimization & waste reduction Product quality & rejection rates Delivery performance & customer satisfaction Compliance & certification standards Employee productivity & retention
