OPERATIONS MANAGER

Job Description : OPERATIONS MANAGER GUINEA a prominent mining services provider operating in Guinea’s bauxite sector, delivering safe, efficient, and sustainable mechanized mining solutions using modern technology. The Operations Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of on-site mechanized mining operations. Reporting directly to the COO, this role carries full accountability for operational performance, HSE compliance, team leadership, and KPI-driven execution, playing a critical role in achieving production targets and maintaining long-term operational excellence. Oversee daily mechanized mining operations, including production, haulage, and stockpile management Provide strong on-site leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations Optimize Surface Miner and truck fleet utilization to meet production and cost objectives Implement and manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment availability Lead, develop, and supervise a workforce of 40–50 operational and maintenance personnel Plan shifts, workforce deployment, and resource allocation to support uninterrupted operations Ensure accurate production data, KPI monitoring, and operational performance reporting Coordinate with senior management, contractors, and support functions to achieve operational goals Technical background in mining, mechanical engineering, or industrial maintenance 10 years’ experience in mechanized or industrial operations Strong hands-on knowledge of heavy mining equipment and mobile fleets Proven leadership experience in demanding operational environments, preferably in Africa Solid experience in operational optimization, stock control, and quality processes Strong analytical, reporting, and systems capability (MS Office; ERP/CMMS an advantage) High commitment to HSE standards, discipline, and operational integrity Professional fluency in French and English; local languages a strong advantage Competitive fixed salary plus performance-based bonus Company vehicle with dedicated work driver Accommodation provided near the mining site Clear career progression up to Operations Director Opportunity to grow within an international mining services group with structured, German-led standards Direct exposure to and impact on large-scale mining operations across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East
