As Factory Director Fast Moving Consumer Goods, you will be entrusted with end-to-end accountability for manufacturing performance. Your day-to-day activities will involve orchestrating seamless production flows to ensure timely delivery of products while upholding stringent quality standards. You will champion safety initiatives by embedding best practices into every layer of operation, from equipment maintenance to employee engagement. Ensure that factory service levels are achieved on time in full by overseeing daily operations with meticulous attention to detail and proactive planning. Develop comprehensive roadmaps and action plans as part of the Manufacturing Strategic Master Plan to align with organisational objectives. Strengthen team performance through proximity leadership, fostering collaboration, empathy, and open communication across all functions. Identify high-potential team members and implement tailored development programmes to nurture both functional expertise and managerial skills. Build a strong safety culture by creating safe working environments, acting as a role model for best practices, and ensuring compliance with all relevant standards. Guarantee product quality and food safety by adhering to regulatory requirements, implementing HACCP protocols, Food Defence measures, and traceability systems in every aspect of factory operations. Maintain factory credibility by consistently producing high-quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations. Optimise processes by organising, controlling, and utilising machine resources alongside human capital to maximise efficiency and minimise waste. Lead cross-functional teams in continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing productivity, reducing losses, and achieving cost targets. Develop and execute action plans designed to reduce the environmental impact of factory operations on neighbouring communities. In this Factory Director Fast Moving Consumer Goods position you will bring extensive experience from senior roles within large-scale manufacturing environments—ideally from sectors where food safety is paramount. Your background should demonstrate not only technical proficiency but also an ability to inspire trust through honest communication and supportive leadership. You will have honed your skills in strategic planning as well as hands-on operational oversight; your approach balances long-term vision with immediate responsiveness. A deep understanding of regulatory requirements around food production ensures that you can navigate complex compliance landscapes confidently. Your interpersonal strengths allow you to foster genuine connections across departments while nurturing emerging talent through structured development pathways. With proven expertise in cost management and process optimisation techniques such as Lean or Kaizen methodologies under your belt—and an unwavering commitment to workplace safety—you are ready to guide teams towards shared goals with warmth and clarity. Bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Agricultural Food Technology is required for this position. At least 20 years’ experience in related managerial roles with a minimum of 5 years as a factory or plant lead within the food or beverage industry—experience with baby food or infant milk is highly desirable. Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing production processes including maintenance, project management, quality assurance, cost control, performance monitoring, safety protocols such as Kaizen or Lean methodologies, autonomous systems implementation, business understanding across supply chain operations, engineering (including spray drying), filling/packing lines, warehouse management, quality & food safety standards (HACCP), environmental stewardship, social responsibility initiatives, local relation management and industrial relations. Proven ability to develop strategic manufacturing plans that drive operational efficiency while maintaining compliance with regulatory frameworks. Demonstrated success in building cohesive teams through empathetic leadership styles that prioritise collaboration over hierarchy. Exceptional interpersonal skills enabling you to connect with diverse groups both inside the organisation and within the wider community context. Experience implementing integrated work systems (IWS) or similar frameworks for continuous improvement is highly advantageous. Track record of initiating projects that deliver measurable improvements in productivity or cost reduction without compromising product integrity or workforce wellbeing. Ability to manage complex budgets effectively while proposing innovative solutions for resource allocation or capital expenditure projects. Commitment to upholding ethical standards in all aspects of factory management including health & safety compliance.
