Responsibilities The Head of Business Development – Power will drive the Group’s growth strategy in the African power sector. The role requires a seasoned executive with strong expertise across the power value chain and proven experience in developing and executing large-scale power projects, including Independent Power Projects (IPPs). Key Responsibilities Identify and develop power sector investment opportunities across Africa Lead feasibility assessments, investment analysis, and commercial structuring Oversee due diligence for acquisitions, greenfield developments, and partnerships Engage with regulators, government agencies, and key stakeholders to secure approvals and licenses Lead negotiations for PPAs, fuel supply agreements, and other commercial contracts Monitor regulatory trends and advise leadership on policy and market risks Desired Skills and Experience At least 20 years’ experience in the power or energy sector Senior executive background within power generation, utilities, or IPPs Strong understanding of power project development, regulation, and financing Proven ability to originate, negotiate, and close complex power transactions Strong technical and commercial judgment Excellent negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills Strategic thinking with execution discipline Deep industry network across the power sector 9) EXPAT BUSINESS UNIT HEAD NIGERIA a leading and fast-growing African industrial group to recruit a Head of a new mining business across the continent, covering the full mining value chain from exploration to commercialization. Responsibilities The Head of Business Development – Mining will lead the Group’s strategic entry and expansion in the African mining sector. This senior executive role requires deep expertise across the mining lifecycle and the ability to originate, structure, and execute large-scale mining investments. The role will be instrumental in identifying viable assets, securing regulatory approvals, structuring partnerships, and driving transactions from concept to execution. Identify and originate greenfield and brownfield mining investment opportunities across Africa Lead opportunity screening, technical and commercial due diligence, and investment appraisal Develop robust business cases, financial models, and execution roadmaps Drive negotiations for acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships Lead engagement with government authorities and regulators to secure licenses, permits, and concessions Support offtake negotiations and commercial structuring of mining projects Advise senior leadership on industry trends, regulatory developments, and market dynamics Desired Skills and Experience Minimum of 20 years’ experience in the mining sector Proven senior leadership experience within mid-tier or top-tier mining companies Strong exposure to mining project development, operations, and commercial transactions Demonstrated track record in originating and closing complex mining investments Extensive network across the mining ecosystem in Africa and internationally Strong commercial and financial acumen Deep understanding of mining economics and project financing Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capability
