Fleet Manager 
20 yearsJob Description : Fleet Manager Location : Uganda Kampala Industry: Logistics / Transport / FMCG / Construction / NGO / Corporate Operations · Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field · 10-15+ years of experience in fleet or transport operations · Handson experience managing medium to large fleets · Professional certifications in fleet management or logistics (added advantage) · Strong understanding of East African road networks and local operating environments Responsibilities: · Manage day-to-day operations of the fleet, ensuring availability, reliability, and optimal utilization of vehicles and equipment. · Develop and implement costeffective maintenance strategies, including preventive maintenance schedules and repair protocols. · Monitor fuel consumption, driver behavior, and routes using fleet management systems (GPS tracking & telematics). · Ensure compliance with Ugandan transport regulations, safety standards, and company policies. · Lead and supervise drivers, mechanics, and operational staff while maintaining high performance and discipline. · Oversee vehicle registration, insurance, licensing, and renewal processes. · Prepare fleet reports, budgets, and performance reviews for management. · Coordinate procurement of new vehicles, spare parts, and service contracts. · Manage breakdowns, accidents, and emergency response procedures effectively. · Implement continuous improvement measures to reduce operational costs and optimize fleet usage. Key Competencies: · Strong leadership and team management · Excellent knowledge of Ugandan transport regulations · Expertise in fleet management systems (GPS, telematics, fuel monitoring) · Solid understanding of vehicle maintenance and workshop management · Strong analytical and reporting skills · High integrity and commitment to safety · Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities Ideal Candidate Attributes: · Proactive, decisive, and reliable · Excellent communication and organizational skills · Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to operational challenges · Strong ethical values and attention to detail. Salary Structure: Net of Tax Salary Accommodation with Basic Furnishing & Utilities. Electricity and water are paid by the company. NSSFsimilar to PF in India; Once a year leave for bachelor/familyonce after 2 years.
