Job Summary: The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing FMCG manufacturing operations, driving sales and distribution growth, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining strong technical and accounting controls, and upholding high-quality standards in compliance with Zambian regulations. Key Responsibilities: 1. Manufacturing & Operations Oversee daily production activities to ensure efficiency and target achievement. Monitor raw material usage, production output, and waste control. Ensure proper maintenance of machinery and production equipment. Improve operational processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs. 2. Sales & Distribution Develop and monitor sales strategies to increase market share. Strengthen distribution channels and ensure product availability. Track sales performance against targets and implement corrective measures. Build strong relationships with distributors and key customers. 3. Financial & Accounting Oversight Supervise budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting. Monitor cash flow, inventory levels, and working capital. Ensure proper accounting systems and internal controls are maintained. 4. Technical Management Provide technical oversight of production systems and plant operations. Ensure equipment efficiency and preventive maintenance schedules. Support product development and process improvements. 5. Quality Control & Compliance Ensure products meet required quality standards. Oversee quality checks from raw materials to finished goods. Ensure compliance with Zambian regulatory requirements and industry standards. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Accounting, Manufacturing, or related field. Minimum 20+ years’ experience in FMCG manufacturing, operations, or related field. Strong understanding of sales and distribution systems. Technical and accounting knowledge with exposure to quality control systems.
