Job Description : Head of Retail Operations Location: Dubai, UAE (Headquarters) | Reports to: Business Head - Talal Market Company Overview Talal Group is a diversified powerhouse with a 40-year legacy in the GCC. With over 100 supermarkets and hypermarkets, we are a cornerstone of the UAE’s retail sector. We are currently seeking a visionary Head of Retail Operations to standardize our vast network and drive a culture of operational excellence through rigorous SOP implementation and high-standard execution. The Mission You will be the custodian of the Talal Group brand experience. Your primary objective is to bridge the gap between corporate strategy and floor-level execution, ensuring that every one of our 100+ locations operates with the same high level of precision, hygiene, and customer service. Key Responsibilities SOP Architecture & Rollout: Design, document, and deploy comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all retail formats (Hypermarkets vs. Supermarkets). This includes fresh food handling, stock management, and checkout efficiency. Operational Auditing: Establish a "High-Standard" audit framework to measure store compliance. Conduct regular site visits to ensure SOPs are living documents, not just manuals on a shelf. Performance Engineering: Analyze P&L, shrinkage data, and labor productivity metrics to identify underperforming units and implement corrective action plans. Team Leadership: Lead a multi-cultural team of Area Managers and Store Managers. You will be responsible for creating a "Train-the-Trainer" program to ensure SOPs are understood at the frontline level. Customer Centricity: Standardize the "Talal Experience"—ensuring visual merchandising, staff behavior, and store cleanliness meet premium market expectations. Process Optimization: Work with IT and Supply Chain to integrate tech-driven solutions for inventory accuracy and automated replenishment. Qualifications & Experience Proven Track Record: 12+ years in Retail Operations, with at least 5 years in a Senior Leadership role managing multi-site supermarket chains (UAE experience preferred). The "System" Mindset: Demonstrated experience in building an operations department from "manual" to "system-driven." Analytical Rigor: Expert-level ability to interpret retail KPIs (Sales per Sq. Ft., Shrinkage %, Basket Value, etc.). Communication: A firm but empathetic leader capable of driving change across a diverse, large-scale workforce. Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business or Retail Management.
