PLASTIC PROCESSING MANAGER

Job Description : PLASTIC PROCESSING MANAGER SINGAPORE Open to International candidates Oversees the sourcing, testing, and application of polymers to ensure product quality, cost-efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. They lead technical improvements, manage supplier relationships, optimize material usage (e.g., PP, HDPE, TPE), and drive sustainability initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Material Strategy & Performance: Evaluate and select raw materials, polymers, additives, and compounds (e.g., masterbatches) to enhance product performance. Supplier Management: Manage relationships, performance, and sourcing strategies for material suppliers, including cost negotiation. Quality Control & Testing: Define and monitor material quality standards, analyze defects (warpage, shrinkage, color variations), and implement corrective actions. Process Improvement: Optimize material usage to reduce waste and improve production efficiency, using techniques like Lean Manufacturing. Technical Support & R&D: Provide technical expertise for new product development (NPD), troubleshooting, and material trials. Compliance: Ensure all materials comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Experience: 8+ years of experience in plastic manufacturing, materials management, or technical service, with expertise in injection molding or extrusion. Skills: In-depth knowledge of plastic materials (HDPE, PVC, PP, TPE), strong analytical skills, project management, and proficiency with ERP systems. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Material waste reduction percentage. Supplier on-time delivery and quality rating. Cost savings on raw materials. Reduction in customer complaints related to material defects.
