Preform Factory Manager

Job Description : Preform Factory Manager ETHIOPIA Reports To: Plant Experience Required: Minimum 10 years in manufacturing/production management, preferably in plastics, packaging, or related industries. Purpose of the Role To oversee the entire, preform production process, ensuring efficiency, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness. The Factory Manager will lead cross-functional teams, optimize resources, and drive continuous improvement to meet organizational goals. Key Responsibilities Production Management · Plan, organize, and supervise daily preform manufacturing operations. · Ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines are consistently met. Quality Assurance · Implement and monitor quality control systems to meet ISO and industry standards. · Collaborate with QA teams to reduce defects and improve product consistency. Resource Optimization Manage raw material usage, machine efficiency, and workforce productivity. Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance schedules. Leadership & People Management Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors, engineers, and operators. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning. Health, Safety & Compliance Enforce workplace safety standards and compliance with regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments. Strategic Planning Contribute to long-term factory strategies including capacity expansion, automation, and sustainability initiatives. Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and performance reports. Education & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field. Master’s degree or MBA is an advantage. Professional certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or ISO standards preferred. Experience Minimum 10 years in manufacturing/production management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven track record in plastics, packaging, or FMCG industries. Experience in managing large-scale production facilities with modern machinery. Skills & Competencies Technical Skills Strong knowledge of injection molding/preform production processes. Familiarity with ERP systems and production planning software. Leadership Skills · Ability to lead diverse teams and manage conflict effectively. · Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities. Analytical Skills Proficiency in data-driven performance management (KPIs, dashboards). Ability to optimize processes and reduce operational costs. Communication Skills Excellent verbal and written communication for internal and external stakeholders.
