Job Description : FLEXI PACKAGING MANUFACTURING EAST AFRICA The Head of Manufacturing owns end-to-end manufacturing performance — throughput, OTIF, cost per unit, quality, and operational predictability — and is accountable for translating business strategy into disciplined, data-driven factory execution at scale. Role: Full ownership of end-to-end production flow across extrusion, printing, lamination, slitting, and pouch making Drive throughput improvement by managing constraints (TOC mindset strongly preferred) Own and improve OTIF performance through realistic planning and execution discipline Cost ownership: cost per unit, contribution impact, overtime vs inventory trade-offs Embed quality-by-design, preventing defects at source rather than relying on inspection Lead adoption and governance of planning systems, digital visibility, and data discipline Achieve and sustain plant OEE ? 60% without compromising flow or quality Build a strong manufacturing leadership bench and succession pipeline Job Requirements MBA or Master's degree in Operations/ Manufacturing Management preferred 18+ years in manufacturing, with senior leadership responsibility Strong exposure to flexible packaging (printing/packaging/continuous or batch manufacturing preferred) Proven record of turning unstable operations into predictable systems Capabilities Strong in production planning, constraint management, and execution discipline Financially literate: understands cost, contribution, working capital, and trade-offs Comfortable with challenging unrealistic plans and escalating risk early Able to move the organisation from heroics ? systems Leadership Style Calm under pressure, fact-based, respected on the shop floor Sets standards, enforces process, and develops leaders — not a micromanager Balances empathy with accountability
