Job Description : CFO TANZANIA 18+ years experience Reports To Chief Executive Officer / Board This role is designed as a stepping-stone CFO position for a high-potential finance leader ready to transition into a full CFO role. The position suits candidates currently operating in senior finance, FP&A, or business finance roles within large-scale eCommerce or platform businesses. The CFO will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to strengthen financial discipline, embed best practices from scaled digital ecosystems, and support the sustainable growth of Rocket Technologies in Tanzania. Partner with the CEO and leadership team on financial strategy and execution • Own financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking across the ecosystem • Develop deep visibility into unit economics, contribution margins, and cost drivers • Support pricing, promotions, and growth initiatives with data-driven financial insights • Drive cash flow management and working capital optimization • Strengthen financial controls, reporting accuracy, and governance frameworks • Translate learnings from large Indian eCommerce platforms into practical local applications • Oversee accounting, audit, taxation, and compliance functions • Support investor reporting, board materials, and strategic analysis • Build scalable financial processes and systems suitable for growth • Develop and mentor the finance team as the organization scales MBA (mandatory), preferably with a focus on Finance, Strategy, or Operations • Professional finance qualifications such as CA, CFA, CPA, or ACCA are strongly preferred • Currently in a senior finance, FP&A, business finance, or finance manager role • Experience in high-growth eCommerce, quick-commerce, or platform-based businesses • Exposure to Indian digital-first companies (e.g., food delivery, quick commerce, or logistics platforms) • Strong understanding of unit economics, marketplace models, and scale-driven cost structures • Demonstrated readiness to step into a broader leadership role Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities • Commercial mindset with the ability to influence business decisions • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and execution focused • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex data • Systems-oriented with interest in automation and process improvement • High integrity, ownership, and accountability This role provides clear exposure to enterprise-level decision-making, board interactions, and ecosystem-wide finance leadership. With demonstrated performance, the role is expected to evolve into a fully independent CFO position as the organization scales.
