PACKING MANAGER

Job Description : PACKING MANAGER TANZANIA INDUSTRY: FMCG Packing Manager who will be responsible for overseeing PET line packaging operations at the Dar es Salaam Plant. The role focuses on delivering production targets, improving equipment efficiency, minimizing downtime, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards within a high-volume FMCG manufacturing environment. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Oversee daily PET line packaging operations to achieve set production volume, efficiency, and quality targets. • Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and drive downtime reduction initiatives. • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities in collaboration with the Engineering team. • Lead troubleshooting processes, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring breakdowns. • Ensure full compliance with quality assurance, food safety, and environmental standards. • Supervise, train, and develop packaging line staff to enhance technical capability and accountability. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce packaging material losses and optimize energy consumption. • Control operational costs through efficient resource utilization and waste management. • Prepare and analyze production performance and downtime reports, and recommend improvement measures. • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintenance systems. QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electronics, or Industrial Engineering. • Minimum of 12+ years’ experience in the beverage or FMCG industry with direct exposure to PET packaging operations. • Strong technical knowledge of PET line equipment such as Sidel, Krones, or similar systems. • Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems, automation, and production control processes. • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills. • Results-driven with a hands-on operational approach. • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. • Demonstrated commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence.
