Job Description : POWER PLANT MANAGER NIGERIA Power Plant Manager Power Generation & Distribution Operations Manage day-to-day operation of Gas engines, 11kV / 33kV distribution networks, substations, RMUs, switchgears, transformers, and LV distribution systems. Ensure uninterrupted and reliable power supply to all LFZ tenants, common utilities, and infrastructure. Coordinate power intake from embedded generation plants, IPPs, DISCOs, and renewable sources (solar, hybrid systems). Monitor system load, power quality, losses, and network stability. Maintenance & Asset Management Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance plans for all electrical distribution & Generation assets. Maintain accurate asset registers, maintenance logs, protection settings, and single-line diagrams. Ensure timely testing of protection relays, breakers, earthing systems, and metering equipment. Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance contracts. Tenant Power Management Coordinate power connections, load approvals, metering, and energization for new tenants. Review tenant electrical drawings and ensure compliance with LFZ and statutory standards. Handle tenant complaints related to outages, voltage fluctuations, harmonics, and power quality issues. Support billing accuracy through metering data validation. Safety, Compliance & Standards Ensure full compliance with NERC regulations, Nigerian Electricity Supply and Installation Standards, NESIS, IEC, IEEE, and LFZ safety policies. Enforce electrical safety procedures, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO), permit-to-work systems, and incident investigations. Lead statutory inspections, audits, and interface with regulators and authorities. Ensure fire safety coordination for electrical installations. Planning & Network Expansion Support planning and execution of network expansion projects aligned with tenant growth and master development plans. Evaluate load growth forecasts and recommend capacity augmentation. Participate in CAPEX planning, budgeting, and technical evaluations for new substations and feeders. Support integration of renewable energy and smart grid solutions. Team & Vendor Management Lead and develop a team of electrical engineers, supervisors, and technicians. Manage contractors, OEMs, and service providers for operation and maintenance works. Conduct performance reviews, training, and competency development for the team. Prepare operational reports covering outages, reliability indices, energy losses, and maintenance Coordinate closely with Power Generation, Gas, Utilities, HSE, Projects, and Commercial teams. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (master’s degree is an advantage). 8-10 years of experience in power distribution &Generation, utilities, or industrial infrastructure. Minimum 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role. Strong experience with 11kV / 33kV networks, substations, and industrial power systems. Experience in industrial parks, utilities, or embedded power networks is highly
