PLANT HEAD 
20 yearsJob Description : PLANT HEAD GERMANY Open to International candidates Plant head will be responsible for overall management & performance of STEPL mold manufacturing factory/division. - To lead the team of professionals & workers to achieve production targets, maintain mold & process quality standards, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and operates within budgetary constraints. - Operational Management: - Oversee day-to-day plant operations to ensure efficient production processes. - Implement and enforce safety protocols and quality control standards. - Monitor production schedules and adjust as needed to meet customer demands. - Optimize resource allocation, including labour, equipment, and materials. - Oversee and manage all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, administration and safety. - Monitor, manage & control quality, time, cost aspects of outsourced vendors & contractors working off & onsite through relevant departments. - Monitor, Identify & effectively reduce wasteful practices [Muda] of resources, operations, practices, consumables & procedures. - Monitoring and enhancing team productivity through the optimization of processes, equipment, and workflow. - Ensure discipline & adherence to company policies by workforce & authorised visitors/suppliers/ subcontractors in plant premises. - Ensure the plant operates in compliance with all environmental and regulatory requirements. - Ensure to maintain safe & hygienic environment in plant & premises. - Ensure to maintain 5S, health & safety standards in plant & premises. - Ensure coordination & cooperation between all STEPL plants/offices. - Quality, procedural & Process Assurance: - Ensure molds meet quality standards and specifications through effective quality control processes. - Implement quality improvement initiatives and corrective actions when necessary. - Collaborate with quality assurance teams to maintain consistency and resolve quality issues. - Ensure adherence of process & procedural SOP in operations of all reporting departments. - Ensure training, deployment & maintenance of new or updates in process/procedural SOP in operations of all reporting departments as & when published. - Collaborate with MR to train, implement & ensure adherence to STEPL QMS policies/procedures. - Maintenance and Asset Management: - Oversee maintenance programs to ensure machinery and equipment are in optimal working condition. - Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities for machinery and equipment. - Manage capital expenditures for equipment upgrades, replacements, and maintenance projects. - Customer Relations: - Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to meet customer requirements and address concerns. - Ensure timely delivery of molds meeting quality standards and manage customer expectations. - Continuous Improvement: - Promote and implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance plant performance. - Identify opportunities for process optimization, waste reduction, and efficiency increase. - Budget and Cost Management: - Develop and manage the plant budget, controlling costs, optimizing resource allocation and maximizing profitability. - Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, waste reduction, and cost control. - Identify opportunities to reduce operational costs and improve profitability. - Analyse financial reports and make data-driven decisions to optimize operations. - Reporting and Documentation: - Prepare regular reports on plant performance for senior management. - Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, safety incidents, and compliance documentation. - Identify training needs of the plant's workforce, both for new employees and for ongoing skill development. Assessing skills gaps, performance issues, leadership development, compliance requirements, & and other areas relevant to the plant's operations. - Collaborate with HR to design and implement training programs that address identified needs. - Ensure all employees are trained in safety protocols and are compliant with relevant regulations/standards to maintaining a safe working environment. - Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to training and development, such as training hours, completion rates, and post-training performance improvements. - Implementing processes to assess the effectiveness of training programs and making adjustments as necessary to improve their impact. - Overseeing relationships with training vendors, external consultants, or in-house trainers. - Identifying and developing potential future leaders within the plant, ensuring a smooth transition as employees progress in their careers. - Team Leadership: - Oversee recruitment, train and manage a diverse team of supervisors, engineers, technicians, and operator staff. - Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement among plant employees. - Provide coaching and support to employees, including performance evaluations and development plans. - Encouraging career development and growth for employees, through mentorship, coaching, and career planning initiatives. - Monitoring and promoting the continuous improvement of employees' skills and competencies. - Address conflicts and disputes within teams and among team members, impartially and maintaining equality. - Work to create a harmonious and productive work environment by maintaining coordination with all departments. - Treat Ensure harmony among the workforce & treat them equally and impartially. - Ensuring that all teams within the plant meet or exceed their performance targets and KPIs. - Strategic Planning: - Develop and execute strategies to improve plant productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. - Collaborate with senior management to align plant goals with overall company objectives. - Identify opportunities for process improvements and technology upgrades. - Develop and implement sustainability initiatives to minimize the plant's environmental impact. - Reduce waste, energy consumption, and emissions. - Regulatory Compliance: - Ensure that the plant operates in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and environmental standards as directed by Head office. Educational: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or above. Years of Experience: 18+ years total of which a minimum of 8+ years managerial experience in similar field. Field of experience: Tools & Plastic injection mold design & manufacturing.
