Job Description : Production cum Maintenance Manager – Thermoforming Industry Location: Nigeria Industry: Plastics / Thermoforming / Packaging Manufacturing Total yrs of exp-8+yrs Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Production cum Maintenance Manager to lead manufacturing operations and plant maintenance activities in a thermoforming production facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production planning, machine uptime, preventive maintenance, cost control, quality compliance, and team management. Key Responsibilities 1?? Production Management Plan and oversee daily production schedules to meet targets and customer delivery timelines. Monitor production efficiency, machine utilization, and waste control. Ensure adherence to quality standards and process parameters. Implement continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Kaizen). Optimize raw material usage and reduce scrap rates. Coordinate with procurement and sales teams for production planning. 2?? Maintenance & Engineering Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Ensure maximum uptime of thermoforming machines, trimming machines, compressors, chillers, and utilities. Troubleshoot breakdowns and lead corrective actions. Manage mold maintenance and changeovers. Maintain maintenance logs, reports, and spare parts inventory. Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs. 3?? Team Management Lead and supervise production supervisors, operators, and maintenance technicians. Train staff on machine operations, safety standards, and SOPs. Conduct performance evaluations and workforce planning. 4?? Quality & Safety Compliance Ensure compliance with safety regulations and plant safety standards. Maintain ISO/FSSC/BRC compliance (if applicable). Monitor product quality parameters and customer complaints. Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). 5?? Cost & Operational Control Control production and maintenance budgets. Monitor energy consumption and utility efficiency. Reduce downtime and operational losses. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field. 8–15 years of experience in plastics/thermoforming manufacturing. Minimum 5 years in a managerial role handling both production and maintenance. Strong knowledge of thermoforming machines (e.g., Illig, Kiefel, GN, etc.). Experience handling utilities such as compressors, chillers, DG sets, and electrical systems. Familiarity with ERP systems and production reporting tools.
