PRODUCTION HEAD

Job Description : PRODUCTION HEAD CORRUGATED CARTONS LAGOS NIGERIA The Production Manager is responsible for managing and controlling all production activities in the packaging plant to ensure efficient operations, high-quality output, and timely delivery. The role involves production planning, manpower management, process optimization, and coordination with quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams. Key Responsibilities Production Planning & Control Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules Ensure achievement of production targets in terms of quantity, quality, cost, and delivery Monitor production performance and take corrective actions to address deviationsProcess & Operations Management Supervise packaging production processes such as printing, lamination, extrusion, cutting, corrugation, or molding (as applicable) Optimize machine utilization, reduce downtime, and improve productivity Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best manufacturing practicesQuality Management Ensure adherence to quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements Coordinate with the Quality team to minimize rejections, rework, and wastage Support audits and certifications (ISO, BRC, GMP, food/pharma packaging standards)Manpower & Team Management Manage production supervisors, operators, and shop-floor staff Ensure adequate manpower planning, shift allocation, and training Maintain discipline, safety awareness, and performance monitoring Maintenance & Safety Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and breakdown maintenance Ensure compliance with safety norms and statutory requirements Promote safe work practices and conduct regular safety briefings Cost Control & Continuous Improvement Control production costs and material consumption Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, 5S)
