What you'll do: As Head of Production, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of manufacturing operations at the Bandung site. Your daily responsibilities will involve championing a culture of safety-first thinking while ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. You will work collaboratively with various departments—especially Quality Assurance—to uphold rigorous standards across production lines. By mentoring your team members through ongoing training programmes and fostering an inclusive environment built on supportive leadership principles, you will drive operational excellence. Your focus on lean manufacturing initiatives will help streamline processes, reduce waste, and maximise productivity. Additionally, you will manage budgets effectively while maintaining assets in optimal condition. Success in this role requires you to balance strategic planning with hands-on involvement in day-to-day operations; your ability to nurture talent, encourage knowledge sharing, and support positive change will be key factors in achieving outstanding results. Ensure the safety of all employees by implementing relevant regulations related to safety, food safety, environmental protection, and maintaining strict compliance at all times. Monitor and improve safety, food safety, and environmental performance through proactive measures and regular assessments. Collaborate closely with the Quality Assurance department to execute and maintain robust quality management systems that meet local and global standards. Direct day-to-day operational activities of the factory to achieve quality, operational, and financial objectives aligned with the master plan. Hire, develop, and mentor staff by providing learning opportunities, fostering growth, building culture, and promoting strong cross-functional collaboration. Act as a role model for servant leadership by living organisational values and supporting positive change within the team. Support budget definition and execution by monitoring costs and effectiveness of production activities to optimise resources and prioritise spending. Identify and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing principles and new technologies to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Manage infrastructure and assets within operations areas to ensure hygienic conditions are maintained throughout the facility. Oversee maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery to minimise downtime and ensure smooth production processes. To excel as Head of Production at this leading manufacturer’s Bandung site, you will bring proven expertise from engineering or technical fields alongside fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English. Your track record managing diverse operational teams—including those involving unions or works councils—will demonstrate your capacity for collaborative leadership. You possess deep familiarity with plant operations as well as advanced knowledge of manufacturing systems such as MS Office Suite, SAP Systems, CMMS, MES. Your approach is grounded in continuous improvement; you consistently seek ways to enhance processes through lean methodologies while nurturing people capabilities. Strong interpersonal skills allow you to communicate clearly at all levels—upwards to senior management or downwards within your team—ensuring alignment around shared goals. Your understanding of quality assurance protocols combined with up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations enables you to maintain high standards across every aspect of production. Attention to detail is second nature; your analytical mindset ensures problems are solved efficiently even when multitasking under pressure. Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering or similar technical field is required for this position. Advanced proficiency in both local language (Bahasa Indonesia) and English is essential for effective communication across teams. Demonstrated experience managing operational teams within manufacturing environments including union or works council contexts. Strong technical background supporting continuous improvement initiatives within production settings. Proven business acumen combined with people management skills that foster collaboration among cross-functional teams. Detailed knowledge of plant operations as well as manufacturing functional disciplines such as scheduling systems (MS Office Suite, SAP Systems, CMMS, MES). Ability to act as a change manager by continuously seeking improvements through lean principles and developing people capabilities. Excellent interpersonal skills paired with strong written and verbal communication abilities for upward/downward interactions. In-depth understanding of latest quality assurance protocols along with safety laws/regulations applicable locally/globally. Exceptional attention to detail coupled with analytical problem-solving capabilities that enable effective multitasking under pressure.
