Job Description : GM TEXTILES NIGERIA LEAD OPERATIONS. DRIVE PERFORMANCE. Reporting To: Board of Directors / Group CEO We are seeking a seasoned and gritty Business Head to take complete P&L and operational ownership of one of our strategic Textile Manufacturing Units in West Africa. This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role requiring a leader who is equally comfortable driving production efficiency on the shop floor as they are managing administration and commercial strategy. This is a Family Status position, designed for a stable, long-term leader who can relocate with their family and integrate into the senior management community. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Operational Leadership: Oversee end-to-end unit operations with a focus on Processing (Dyeing/ Chemicals/Finishing) or Weaving. Esnure maximum machine utilization, quality control, and waste reduction. Administration & Compliance: Manage all local unit administration, including security, labour relations, housing, and logistics. Ensure compliance with local West African labour laws and environmental standards. Product Development: Collaborate with the technical team to enhance product mix. (For Diploma holders: Strong emphasis on hands-on product development capabilities to support market needs). Strategic Planning: Drive monthly production targets, inventory management, and raw material procurement planning to meet sales demand. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE ? Educatione o Preferred: BTech in Textiles Engineering/ Technology. o Alternative: Diploma in Textiles with demonstrated strong administrative acumen and proven Product Development skills. Experience: Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in the textile manufacturing industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (Unit Head, Plant Head, or GM). Technical Competencies: Deep expertise in either weaving (preferably AirJet/Projecitle) or Wet Processing (Dyeing/Finishing). PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES Proven "hands-on" leader, not a desk-bound executive. Ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced, sometimes resource- constrained environment (West Africa context). High emotional intelligence to manage a family-status expat team and local workforce. Team Management: Lead a multi-cultural workforce (expatriate and local). Foster a culture of safety, discipline, and continuous improvement.
