Job Description : CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT MANAGER NIGERIA a international civil construction group to recruit a Contract Manager for its operations in the Republic of Benin. We are interested in African professionals in the construction sector. Responsibilities The Contract Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end management of contracts across multiple infrastructure projects, ensuring full compliance with contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements while safeguarding the company’s commercial interests. Lead the review, drafting, and negotiation of contracts, including client agreements, subcontracts, and supplier contracts Conduct detailed analysis of tenders, proposals, and contractual documentation Ensure contracts are aligned with company standards, legal frameworks, and commercial objectives Oversee contract administration throughout the project lifecycle, including performance monitoring, change management, and close-out Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks, implementing appropriate risk management strategies Monitor contract execution against KPIs, milestones, and obligations, and implement corrective actions where required Manage and negotiate variations, claims, and dispute resolution processes Provide strategic advice on contractual matters and new business opportunities Maintain accurate and comprehensive contract documentation and reporting systems Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure alignment between contractual obligations and project delivery Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders Ensure timely issuance of contractual notices and compliance with procedural requirements Support the development and continuous improvement of contract management policies and processes Report on claims, variations, and critical contractual issues to senior management Desired Skills and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Law, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field A Master’s degree such as an MBA is an advantage Professional certifications such as CCM, CPCM, or equivalent are highly desirable Minimum 10 years’ experience in contract management within the construction or infrastructure sector Proven experience managing large-scale, high-value contracts, including complex negotiations and dispute resolution Strong knowledge of construction law, contract administration, and risk management practices Familiarity with regulatory frameworks applicable to infrastructure projects in Africa Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills Ability to operate effectively in complex and fast-paced project environments Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management tools Fluent French is mandatory, with working proficiency in English
