Job Description : HOD- Greenfield Coal Mining and Washery Operations BOTSWANA Role & responsibilities · Lead the development of greenfield mining projects, including infrastructure such as roads, power, water systems, workshops, conveyors, washeries, and CHP facilities · Drive mine planning strategies across short, medium and long-term horizons · Oversee feasibility studies, project appraisal, contractor mobilization, execution, and commissioning · Oversee end-to-end mining operations including drilling, blasting, excavation, hauling, crushing, beneficiation, and dispatch · Ensure achievement of coal production, overburden removal, and dispatch targets · Drive operational efficiency, productivity enhancement, and cost optimization initiatives · Optimize equipment utilization, fleet productivity, and asset availability · Implement advanced technologies such as In-Pit Crushing and Conveying (IPCC) systems · Lead operations of coal washery and Coal Handling Plant (CHP) · Ensure consistent coal quality through washing, blending, and beneficiation processes · Maximize washery yield, throughput, and efficiency · Ensure adherence to customer specifications and fuel supply agreements · Optimize reject management and minimize coal losses · Ensure adherence to all mining laws, statutory regulations, and safety standards · Drive risk management and disaster preparedness initiatives · Promote sustainable and environmentally compliant mining practices Functional Competencies · Mine Planning & Development · Coal Beneficiation & Quality Control · Project & Infrastructure Management · Mining Laws & Regulatory Compliance · Equipment Productivity & Asset Optimization Preferred candidate profile · Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) from a recognized institution · Minimum 20+ years of experience in greenfield mining projects · Proven exposure to mining operations in the African region · Demonstrated experience in coal washery / mineral beneficiation operations · Proficiency in mine planning software such as MineX / Surpac / Deswik / FLAC 3D
