Job Description : Vice President / Head – EHS Chemical Manufacturing Organisation | Gujarat Role Purpose To Lead & Drive the Entire EHS Function Across the Chemical Manufacturing Operations, Ensuring World-Class Standards in Environment, Health, Safety, Process Safety, Sustainability, Regulatory Compliance, & Risk Management. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Develop & Implement the Overall EHS Strategy aligned with Business Goals. Drive a “Safety First” Culture across Manufacturing Locations. Partner with Plant Leadership Teams to Integrate EHS into Business Operations. Lead Transformation Initiatives for Sustainable & Responsible Manufacturing. Environment Management Ensure Compliance with Environmental Regulations, Pollution Control Norms,& Statutory Requirements. Monitor Emissions, Effluent Treatment, Hazardous Waste Management, and Sustainability Metrics. Drive Water Conservation, Energy Efficiency, Carbon Reduction, and ESG Initiatives. Liaise with Regulatory Authorities including GPCB, CPCB, Factory Inspectorate, PESO, etc. Health & Safety Lead Occupational Health & Industrial Safety Programs. Strengthen Contractor Safety Management Systems. Ensure Robust Incident Investigation, Root Cause Analysis, & Corrective Actions. Drive Safety Audits, Risk Assessments, HAZOP, PSM, & Emergency Preparedness Programs. Implement Global Best Practices in Chemical Process Safety. Process Safety Management Develop Process Safety Frameworks for Hazardous Chemical Operations. Ensure Compliance with Major Accident Hazard (MAH) Regulations. Drive Risk Mitigation for High-Risk Operations including Storage, Handling, & Transportation of Chemicals. Governance & Compliance Ensure Compliance with Factories Act, Environmental Laws, OSHA Standards, & Chemical Industry Regulations. Interface with External Auditors, Certification Agencies, & Government Authorities. Lead ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Responsible Care, & Sustainability Audits. Team Leadership Build & Mentor High-Performance EHS Teams Across Plants. Conduct Capability Building & Safety Training Programs. Develop Succession Planning within the EHS Function. Qualification Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering is Must Advanced Certification in Industrial Safety is Preferred. Experience 20–25+ Years of Exp. with Large Chemical / Specialty Chemical / Petrochemical / Process Mfg. Org. Proven Experience in Leading EHS for Multi-Plant Operations. Strong Exposure to Process Safety & Hazardous Chemical Manufacturing Environment Key Competencies Strategic EHS Leadership Process Safety Management (PSM) Risk Assessment & Hazard Analysis Crisis & Emergency Management Sustainability & ESG Regulatory Compliance Key Success Indicators Strong Compliance & Audit Ratings Improved Process Safety Metrics Enhanced Sustainability Performance Zero Major Environmental / Safety Violations
