Job Description : Project Director – LNG Plant Nigeria Position Summary To Provide leadership, Technical Authority & Delivery Accountability for Development, Execution,Commissiing & handover of the LNG Liquefaction Plant,Covering the entire Value Chain from Gas Receipt to LNG Storage & Dispatch. Responsibilities 1. Project Leadership & Governance Provide Overall Accountability for LNG Plant Delivery. Define Project Execution Strategy, Governance framework, & Control Mechanisms. Lead EPC / EPCM / PMC teams & Provide Regular updates to Board Members, Investors, & Key Stakeholders. Drive Project timelines, Quality, Safety, & Performance Excellence. 2. Technical & Design Coordination Approve Design Basis, Process Philosophy, & Detailed Engineering Documents. Review PFDs, P&IDs, HAZOP, QRA, SIL Studies, & Plant layouts. Ensure High Standards of Reliability, Operability, Availability, & Energy Efficiency. Coordinate with Licensees, Owner’s Engineers, Consultants, & EPC Contractors. 3. EPC & Contract Management Develop EPC Strategy & lead the Contractor Selection Process. Approve Procurement of long-lead equipment including MCHE, Cryogenic Storage Tanks, & Compressors. Manage Contractual variations, Claims, Commercial Negotiations, & Disputes. Ensure Cost, Schedule, & Quality Compliance Across all Contract Packages. 4. Regulatory & Compliance Management Ensure full Compliance with all Applicable Standards. Secure all Necessary Regulatory Approvals, licenses, & Permits. Drive Governance, Risk Management, & Audit Readiness. 5. Construction & Site Execution Oversee Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, & Offsite Construction Activities. Ensure Safe execution of Construction Works with Strong LNG Safety Culture. Monitor Site Progress, Productivity, & Construction Quality. 6. Commissioning & Start-Up Lead Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, first Gas-in, Cooldown, & first LNG Activities. Oversee Performance testing, troubleshooting, & Plant Stabilization. Ensure Achievement of Guaranteed Performance Parameters & Capacity Ramp-up Targets. 7. Handover to Operations Ensure Operational Readiness including SOPs, Maintenance Systems, Spares, Drive a Smooth Transition from Project Phase to Operations. 8. CAPEX & Risk Management Own Project CAPEX, Cash flow Management, & Cost optimization initiatives. Develop & Monitor Project risk Registers & Mitigation Strategies. 9. HSE Leadership Establish & drive a Zero-Harm LNG Safety Culture across the Project. Ensure implementation of Emergency Response Plans, HSE Audits, & safety compliance programs. Champion Process Safety Management Qualification & Exp. Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical / Mechanical / Petroleum Engineering. 15–20 years of exp. in Oil & Gas / LNG Projects with strong LNG Liquefaction leadership exposure. Strong exp.in EPC Project execution, LNG Technologies, Commissioning, & Operations handover.
