Director of Construction

Job Description : Director of Construction | Southeast Asia Seeking an experienced Director of Construction to join an independent resort company with a growing portfolio of boutique resorts across Southeast Asia. About the Role The Director of Construction oversee the delivery of multiple resort development projects across the region, managing the full construction lifecycle from concept through to completion, while also supporting refurbishment, renovation, and operational engineering initiatives across the portfolio. Key responsibilities include: ??Managing all phases of resort construction projects including planning, design coordination, pre-construction, procurement, execution, and project closeout ??Providing on-site supervision to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards ??Overseeing resort pre-openings, renovations, refurbishments, and ongoing maintenance programs ??Directing all engineering and technical aspects across the resort portfolio ??Coordinating with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions ??Monitoring project performance, budgets, timelines, compliance, and risk management ??Supporting operational teams to ensure a seamless transition from construction through to opening and ongoing operations Qualifications & Experience: ?An internationally recognised qualification in engineering, building, construction, or a related discipline ?Proven experience in resort or hotel construction and project site management, with a strong track record of successful project delivery ?Demonstrated experience managing resort pre-openings, renovations, and refurbishment projects ?Extensive experience working throughout Southeast Asia, with strong knowledge of regional building regulations, supplier networks, and construction best practices ?Strong stakeholder management and leadership capabilities, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels ?Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills ?A hands-on leadership style with the ability to operate effectively in remote and diverse environments ??This is a highly hands-on role requiring extensive regional travel and strong on-site project leadership capability. Candidates must be willing and able to travel regularly to project sites throughout the region. Due to the travel demands and project locations associated with this position, single-status candidates will be highly regarded.
