20 yearsJob Description : Deputy Head – Supply Chain Management (SCM) Location: Lagos, Nigeria Industry: Automotive / Manufacturing / Trading Reporting To: Head – Supply Chain Management Age Limit : Upto 45 years Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Deputy Head – Supply Chain Management to oversee and strengthen our end-to-end supply chain operations across Nigeria. The incumbent will be responsible for managing import/export operations, customs compliance, logistics planning, warehousing, inventory control, transportation, and regulatory coordination while ensuring operational efficiency and cost optimization. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of Nigerian import/export regulations and hands-on experience with PAAR, SONCAP, Form M, NXP documentation, customs clearance, and shipping compliance processes. Key Responsibilities Import & Export Operations Manage complete import and export processes from shipment planning to final delivery. Ensure timely initiation and processing of Form M, PAAR, SONCAP, NXP, and other statutory documentation. Coordinate with banks, customs agents, shipping lines, terminal operators, freight forwarders, and government agencies for smooth cargo clearance. Monitor and ensure compliance with Nigerian Customs Service regulations and all applicable import/export laws. Ensure timely customs clearance of containers within free days to avoid demurrage and storage charges. Ensure prompt return of empty containers within stipulated timelines to prevent shipping line penalties. Track shipment movement and proactively resolve clearance bottlenecks. Regulatory & Compliance Management Maintain strong understanding of Nigerian trade compliance requirements including: PAAR (Pre-Arrival Assessment Report) SONCAP certification NXP (Nigeria Export Proceed) documentation Form M processing Customs HS Code classification SON / Customs / MAN regulations Ensure timely renewal of operational permits, licenses, and certifications. Liaise with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders during inspections and audits. Ensure adherence to company policies, statutory requirements, and ISO standards. Logistics & Distribution Management Develop and implement efficient logistics, transportation, and warehousing strategies. Oversee nationwide product distribution and ensure timely deliveries to branches and dealers across Nigeria. Optimize route planning, fleet utilization, and transportation costs. Ensure seamless coordination between warehouse operations and logistics teams. Monitor delivery performance and implement corrective actions where necessary. Warehouse & Inventory Management Supervise warehouse operations including inventory management, stock reconciliation, receiving, and dispatch activities. Ensure inventory accuracy and maintain optimal stock levels across all warehouse and branch locations. Implement inventory control systems and periodic stock audits. Ensure proper material handling and warehouse safety standards. Financial & ERP Control Ensure accurate booking of all logistics, clearing, freight, and warehouse liabilities in ERP systems. Monitor logistics costs and identify opportunities for process optimization and savings. Prepare operational MIS reports, logistics dashboards, and performance analytics. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management Lead, mentor, and develop logistics, warehouse, and supply chain teams. Drive operational discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement initiatives. Build strong relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency. Handle escalations, complaints, and operational issues in a timely manner. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree or professional certification in Supply Chain/Logistics will be an added advantage. Minimum 12–18 years of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, import/export operations, and warehouse management. Strong exposure to Nigerian import/export regulations and customs procedures is mandatory. Experience in automotive, manufacturing, FMCG, or trading industries preferred.
