20 yearsJob Description : INTERNAL AUDIT HEAD OMAN FOR TELECOM As the Head - Internal Audit you will be responsible to promote the internal audit in the organization and to advocate the value added by internal audit activities, planning and managing the internal audit activities, including operational, financial, compliance, performance audit projects and consulting services for management and staff, ensuring the work is carried out with professional care and in accordance with the appropriate standards. Role Accountabilities: a. Audit and recommendations follow-up Undertake the identification and evaluation of Ooredoo Oman audit risk areas through a risk-based audit methodology, and manage the preparation of the annual audit plan based on the identified risks and in consultation with the Management, Regulatory and Compliance requirements, and External Audit. Ensure to consider the impact of fraud and fraud indicators while preparing the audit plan and audit programs.Fraud risk framework should be taken into consideration in each and every activity of internal audit. Identify the resources required to execute the audits. Manage resource planning and requirements for the different audit assignments and special assignments. Manage the audit assignments progress and escalate any show stoppers to the Audit and Risk Committee for intervention. Ensure that audit procedures are strictly adhered to, including identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing and analysing evidence, and documentation of processes and procedures. Oversee and manage the work of the audit staff in conducting interviews, reviewing documents, developing and administering surveys, composing summary memos, and preparing working papers; Oversee the work of the co-source audit firms and review the work performed to ensure the adequacy of audit scope, the adequacy of testing performed, and the accuracy of conclusions reached; Review the audit programs to ensure the appropriate testing mechanisms, execute the audit program, recognize control weaknesses, assess the materiality of these weaknesses, and relate them back to the scope and objectives of the audit; Review the work of the audit staff in identification, development, and documentation of audit issues and recommendations for improvement; Communicate the results, findings and recommendations of audit projects via written reports and face-to-face presentations on a timely basis to the management, Audit and Risk Committee, and if necessary to the Board of Directors. Developing statistics on the internal audit findings on periodic basis and highlighting Internal Control weaknesses area/segment/process wise as well as suggestions for improvement. Interact with staff, section heads, department directors and managers and when necessary with executive management in order to obtain and/or communicate relevant information to achieve the objective/s of the Audits; After the completion of each assignment, ensure that the risk assessment is updated and in particular the identification of the controls and whether it will impact the residual risk score. Review of implementation of audit recommendations and report on a half yearly basis to Audit and Risk Management Committee. b. Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICOFR) Manage planning of co-source/audit staff requirements, review and approve resources proposed. Oversee and manage the work of the co-source/audit staff in planning, conducting ICOFR operating effectiveness testing and reporting of results; Review the OE test plans to ensure the appropriate mechanisms, adequate execution of testing procedure to assess operating effectiveness of key Internal Controls over Financial Reporting; Review and manage the work of the co-source/audit staff in identification, development, and documentation of ICOFR observations, rating of observations and adequacy of management actions and/or remediation/mitigation plans; Communicate the progress and results of the Operating Effectiveness testing through periodic reports (i.e quarterly) on a timely basis to the Audit and Risk Committee, and if necessary to the Board of Directors; Review and approve, co-source/audit teams assessment of the operating effectiveness of ICOFR and endorse assessment report to ARC for review and approval. c. Consulting Manage consulting engagements related to OO operations if asked to do so by the Audit and Risk Committee, Board of Directors, or CEO /any another relevant body with the approval of Audit and Risk Committee; Communicate the results, findings, and recommendations of consulting projects via written reports and oral presentations on a timely basis to the Audit and Risk Committee, Board of Directors, or CEO /any another relevant body with the approval of Audit Committee; Review of the policies and procedures of the company and share the feedback with the Corporate Governance Team. Review the Quarterly ERM reports of the company and comments on its adequacy d. Special Assignments and Fraud Investigations Manage special audit assignments and investigations as instructed by the Audit and Risk Committee, Board of Directors, or CEO /any another relevant body with the approval of Audit and Risk Committee; Role Profile: Ooredoo Oman Head of Internal Audit Page 3 of 4 Communicate the results, findings, and recommendations of special assignment/investigation projects via written reports and oral presentations on a timely basis to the Audit and Risk Committee, Board of Directors, or CEO /any another relevant body with the approval of Audit and Risk Committee. e. Staff Manage the work of direct reports to ensure they meet their objectives, are kept motivated and perform in accordance with their job description; Conduct regular on the job training to ensure that direct reports have the necessary skills to undertake new or existing responsibilities; Delegate responsibility to direct reports, in accordance with their role and ability, to ensure they are developed and maximise their potential; Participate in the selection and interview process for the candidates as well as the assistance in the recruitment of reporting staff as required; Perform the annual performance appraisal process for the direct reporting staff and ensure objectives set are monitored and take effective actions to address performance matters; Manage the workload and resources management to effectively handle the different assignments in the internal audit department. f. Others Maintain all organizational and professional ethical standards and ensure internal audit activities are carried out in compliance with International Standards (“Standards”) and IIA Code of Ethics. Work independently under general direction with extensive latitude for initiative and independent judgment; Coordinate with the external auditors and facilitate their fieldwork in the Company. Proactively take responsibility for self-improvement by staying well informed of developments, knowledge and innovations in relevant field of expertise; Pursue professional development opportunities, including internal and external training and professional association memberships, and shares information gained with co-workers; Promote the internal audit in the organization and to advocate the value added by internal audit activities.
