An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Group Tax to join a newly established, large-scale international energy organisation backed by major global stakeholders. This is a rare chance to take on a foundational leadership role, building and overseeing the tax function within a complex, multi-jurisdictional environment. The organisation has significant upstream assets and ongoing exploration activity, alongside ambitious long-term strategic growth plans. The Role Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be responsible for leading the Group’s tax strategy, compliance, and governance across multiple jurisdictions. Key responsibilities include: Leading and shaping the Group tax strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory frameworks Overseeing global tax compliance and reporting, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery Managing tax risk and governance frameworks, including controls and documentation Driving efficiency and optimisation across international tax structures Supporting senior leadership with strategic tax advice, modelling, and scenario analysis Acting as a key interface with external advisers, auditors, and internal finance teams Providing input into investor-facing disclosures and broader financial communications Candidate Profile We are seeking a senior tax leader with experience operating in complex, regulated and capital-intensive industries such as oil & gas, utilities, mining, or infrastructure. You will bring: Extensive experience in international corporate tax, ideally within a multinational environment Strong knowledge of cross-border taxation, transfer pricing, and OECD frameworks A track record of operating at a strategic leadership level, engaging with C-suite stakeholders Experience managing tax risk, governance, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions Commercial acumen and the ability to support complex investment and financing structures Excellent analytical and stakeholder management skills
