General Manager

Job Description : GM GHANA General Manager will involve managing Sales, key account management & business development for our Wheat milling business This is a well-rounded role in a growing Gains business. Overall responsibilities include managing the Sales, Key Account Management & business development for both Ghana as well as export markets. The team is composed of sales personnel as well as the Technical sales Force. The incumbent will have to deliver on these dimensions: 1. Strategic effectiveness (including key stakeholder management and industry leadership) 2. Operational effectiveness 3. Organizational effectiveness This role will give the incumbent a unique opportunity to build his/her career in Olam. The role involves intensive team management for effective delivery across the country and neighboring countries. It also involves significant stakeholder management (both internal and external). Key Deliverables As General Manager the incumbent will have to set out the vision for the business and take full end to end responsibility for its growth, sustainability and delivery: 1. Developing and implementing sales strategies for increase of market share and profitability on sustainable basis in line with Annual Business Plan (ABP). 2. Delivered growth & achieved target on all key P&L metrics - volume, revenue. 3. Bottom line responsibilities: Completing the budgeted commitments on volumes, GC, , marketing expenses 4. Replenishment Planning: Lead and manage the demand of inventory through forecasted demand to cover market requirements 5. Development of manpower: Along with mentoring and career-pathing of the team members, the incumbent also must ensure that the career paths are perpetuated suitably down the staff-line. 6. Play the role of Olam Wheat’s face in the complex regulatory environment. The incumbent must manage the complex regulatory and competitive environment, Both in Ghana as well as Export markets 7. Work closely with Supply Chain team, mostly outbound logistics 8. Bring in innovation and a high level of engagement with all key stakeholders to build on the sustainability issues critical to this industry. Requirements Person Characteristics If you have proven experience in managing, key account management, sales or distribution roles in emerging/ upcountry markets, the role entails absolute responsibility for both Country / Product levels. Exposure to micro & macroeconomic factors of business environment would therefore require a strong conceptual and analytical bend of mind to operate in international business environment.
