FINANCE MANAGER

Job Description : FINANCE MANAGER GHANA As part of the launch of its operations in Ghana, an international trading company specialised in the import/export of agricultural commodities (soya, wheat, wheat bran) to West African markets, is recruiting a Financial Manager to build and oversee the entire financial function from the start of operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Accounting & Reporting Oversee general and analytical accounting in line with trading operations (purchases, sales, trading contracts) Produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (P&L by commodity line, balance sheet, cash flow) Implement management reporting tailored to margin tracking per trading operation (soya, wheat, wheat bran) Ensure timely period-end closings and oversee external audits Deliver consolidated financial reporting to headquarters: dashboards, performance indicators, variance analysis Treasury & Financing Manage treasury and international payment flows (letters of credit, SWIFT transfers, GHS/USD FX hedging) Supervise trade finance operations (documentary credit, inventory financing, supplier credit lines) Manage relationships with local Ghanaian banks and international banking partners Anticipate liquidity needs based on buy/sell cycles and cargo rotation timelines Management Control & Compliance Prepare and monitor annual budgets and financial forecasts Analyse variances between projected and actual margins on each cargo / contract Ensure Ghanaian fiscal and regulatory compliance (Ghana Revenue Authority, VAT, income tax, corporate tax) Ensure compliance with Bank of Ghana regulations on foreign currency operations Establish and strengthen internal control procedures Manage and develop the local accounting and administrative team CANDIDATE PROFILE Education: Bachelor's / Master's in Finance, Accounting or Management (ACCA, ICAG, MBA Finance or equivalent recognised in Ghana) Experience: Minimum 10 years in a similar role; background in international trading, commodity trading or agri-food strongly preferred Good knowledge of IFRS Knowledge of international trade finance instruments (LC, SBLC, Incoterms) Proficiency in ERP systems, advanced Excel and financial reporting tools Rigorous, analytical mindset, able to work in a fast-paced operational environment Fluent English required (primary working language); French an advantage KEY COMPETENCIES Financial management in a commodity trading environment Treasury management and international trade finance (LC, SWIFT) Group / headquarters reporting Margin analysis per trading operation / contract Accounting and administrative team management
