Chief Operation Officer

Job Description : COO MUMBAI, INDIA one of India's largest rigid packaging manufacturers. This incumbent is expected to lead this company from an operations perspective, deliver improved manufacturing and production performance and keep with the evolving customer needs with innovative solutions Responsibilities: Responsible for the company's long-term Operational Strategy, reporting to the Managing Director (MD) Ensure company's operational objectives are met, including but not limited to continuous Improvement of Quality, Cost and Delivery Drive efficiency/cost reduction by minimizing down time and changeover time, effectively utilizing the labour force and controlling overtime, optimizing overhead including staff and worker ratio; Adopt Lean manufacturing and quality assurance systems and implement tools like JIT, TQM, TPM, and Kaizen with the objective of creating a world-class packaging manufacturing company. Liaise with customers to deliver total customer satisfaction Optimize the network of multiple plants around the country to serve the customers in best possible way Reconcile and coordinate between all department heads and outside vendors to resolve any issues that may occur Solely responsible for the P&L of each plant and the Company as a whole Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or above in Business, Finance, or Engineering; Plastics qualifications preferred Minimum 15 years solid background of senior operational leadership position in the manufacturing industry, with a focus on plastics Excellent knowledge in Plastics manufacturing, engineering, material, and production planning, with deep expertise in Injection Moulding and Blow Moulding Demonstrated ability in implementing one or more quality systems leading to measured productivity improvement Should have very good ERP (SAP or similar) exposure and should be an effective user and exponent of the same Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as attention to detail Adept leadership, decision-making and communications skills Self-motivated and able to work under pressure with the ability to perform multi-task in a fast-paced environment Location: Base location will be Mumbai Regular all India travel to plant locations and customer visits
