Job Description : General Manager (Ethanol Plant Operations) EAST AFRICA We are looking for a highly experienced and dynamic General Manager – Ethanol Plant Operations to lead and manage the overall operations of our Grain-Based Ethanol Plant. Key Responsibilities: Take complete responsibility for the end-to-end plant operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable performance. Handle government and statutory liaison activities, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder management. Lead manpower planning, workforce management, and team development across all departments. Oversee procurement and utilization of raw materials, inventory control, and supply chain coordination. Manage production, maintenance, utilities, quality control, and dispatch operations to achieve operational excellence. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase plant efficiency, productivity, and profitability. Implement cost optimization and cost reduction strategies without compromising quality and safety standards. Ensure optimum plant performance through effective maintenance planning and reliability improvement programs. Monitor daily production targets, process efficiencies, yield improvement, and quality parameters. Coordinate with senior management to achieve business objectives and operational goals. Develop and maintain a high-performance culture focused on accountability, safety, quality, and results. Desired Candidate Profile: Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. MBA will be an added advantage. 15+ years of experience in Distillery/Ethanol/Sugar/Process Industries, with significant leadership experience. Strong expertise in production management, maintenance, utilities, quality systems, and plant administration. Proven track record in increasing production efficiency, reducing operational costs, and improving plant performance. Excellent leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience in handling large teams and coordinating with government authorities and external stakeholders.
