20 yearsJob Description : MAINTENANCE HEAD ABUJA NIGERIA The Head Maintenance will be responsible for leading and managing all Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, Utilities, and Reliability functions across ANRML's Beneficiation Plant, Pellet Plant, DRI Plant, and Power Plant. This role will ensure optimum asset availability, reliability, safety, and cost efficiency while supporting production targets and long-term business objectives. The incumbent will provide strategic direction for maintenance planning, reliability engineering, shutdown management, condition monitoring, asset lifecycle management, and continuous improvement initiatives across all operating units. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance Leadership & Asset Reliability Lead maintenance activities across Beneficiation, Pellet, DRI, Power Plant, Utilities, and common facilities. Develop and implement maintenance strategies, standards, governance systems, and reliability frameworks to maximize equipment availability and operational excellence. Drive a culture of continuous improvement, reliability, and preventive maintenance. Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Ensure reliability and maintenance of all major mechanical assets, including crushing, grinding, beneficiation equipment, conveyors, pumps, thickeners, pellet plant systems, rotary kilns, coolers, boilers, turbines, compressors, and utility equipment. Oversee maintenance of HT/LT electrical distribution systems, substations, switchyards, transformers, switchgear, motors, VFDs, MCCs, protection systems, DCS, PLC, SCADA, process instrumentation, analyzers, and automation infrastructure. Monitor equipment health and implement timely corrective and preventive actions to minimize failures. Reliability Engineering & Shutdown Management Lead Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Preventive Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), and Condition Monitoring programs. Implement vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasonic testing, and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for critical equipment. Plan and execute annual and major shutdowns, including scope development, resource planning, risk assessment, execution, and post-shutdown performance reviews while ensuring safety, budget adherence, and timely completion. Maintenance Planning, Spare Parts & Cost Management Drive maintenance planning and scheduling through SAP PM or equivalent CMMS. Optimize maintenance workflows, manpower utilization, and spare parts inventory to improve equipment availability while controlling inventory costs. Prepare and manage annual maintenance budgets, monitor expenditure, optimize service contracts, and implement lifecycle cost reduction initiatives. Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements. Promote best practices including Permit-to-Work, Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Risk Assessment, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA). Participate in internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of observations. Lead TPM, Lean Maintenance, Industry 4.0, digital maintenance, and data-driven reliability improvement initiatives. Team Leadership & Capability Development Lead multidisciplinary teams across Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Planning, and Reliability functions. Build organizational capability through structured training, mentoring, succession planning, and performance management. Foster effective collaboration with Operations, Projects, Procurement, Commercial, and other cross-functional teams. Education & experience: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering from Tier 1 Institute Additional qualifications in Maintenance Management, Reliability Engineering, Asset Management, TPM, or Project Management will be preferred. 1520 years of experience in integrated steel, pellet, DRI, power, mining, cement, or other large process industries. Strong exposure to Beneficiation, Pelletization, DRI, and Power Plant operations. Experience in SAP PM/CMMS, reliability engineering, and large-scale shutdown management. Prior experience in the African mining or metals industry will be considered an added advantage. Performance Core Competencies: Deliver high plant availability, equipment reliability, and operational excellence. Improve MTBF, reduce MTTR, and increase planned maintenance effectiveness. Execute shutdowns safely, on schedule, and within budget. Optimize maintenance costs, spare parts inventory, and asset lifecycle performance. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory requirements while maintaining strong HSE performance. Demonstrate expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, Reliability Engineering, and SAP PM/CMMS. Drive continuous improvement through TPM, Lean Maintenance, predictive maintenance, and digital/Industry 4.0 initiatives.
