Job Description : FINANCE DIRECTOR INDIAN TRADING CO, THAILAND As Finance Director, you will be instrumental in guiding the organisation’s financial direction while acting as a vital bridge between local operations and regional headquarters. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you deeply involved in shaping business strategy through data-driven insights, managing complex budgets, overseeing compliance frameworks, and championing best-in-class financial practices. The package includes base salary + performance bonus + provident fund Serve as a strategic partner to the Managing Director and executive leadership team by providing insightful financial guidance that supports business growth and profitability. Oversee all aspects of the finance function, ensuring robust governance, accurate planning, comprehensive reporting, and full compliance with regulatory requirements. Drive business performance by delivering detailed financial analysis, commercial insights, and actionable recommendations that support operational excellence. Take ownership of the company's profit and loss performance by identifying opportunities for revenue growth, cost optimisation, and margin enhancement. Lead the annual budgeting process, forecasting cycles, long-range planning initiatives, and ongoing financial performance management activities. Collaborate closely with regional finance teams based in Singapore to ensure alignment between local operations and broader corporate objectives. Develop forward-thinking financial strategies that underpin business expansion plans and support operational improvements across departments. Monitor key business drivers and critical KPIs to proactively identify risks or opportunities that could impact achievement of organisational targets. Ensure effective internal controls are maintained alongside rigorous risk management processes to safeguard company assets and reputation. Mentor, develop, and inspire members of the finance team by fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous learning. Support major strategic initiatives including investment appraisals, transformation projects, and cross-functional change programmes as required. What you bring: To excel as Finance Director, you will bring significant experience gained within large multinational environments where you have successfully transitioned from technical accounting roles into positions of strategic influence. Your deep understanding of financial systems will be matched by your ability to interpret complex data sets into meaningful insights that inform executive decision-making. You possess exceptional interpersonal skills which enable you to collaborate seamlessly across cultures and functions while building trust with colleagues at every level. Your approach is grounded in empathy—valuing teamwork over hierarchy—and you take pride in developing others through mentorship and shared learning experiences. With an eye for detail balanced by big-picture thinking, you consistently deliver results that align with both immediate priorities and long-term organisational goals. Your fluency in English ensures effective communication across diverse teams while your analytical mindset allows you to anticipate challenges before they arise. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline is required; additional qualifications such as CPA or MBA are highly advantageous for this position. Extensive experience in finance leadership roles within multinational companies demonstrates your readiness for this level of responsibility. A proven track record of evolving from an accounting foundation into a commercially focused finance leader is essential for success in this role. Strong expertise in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), business partnering with senior stakeholders, and managing overall performance is expected. Demonstrated ability to manage full P&L responsibilities while driving improvements in revenue generation and cost efficiency is crucial. Experience working closely with regional or global headquarters—ideally within matrix organisations—will enable seamless collaboration across borders. A commercial mindset paired with excellent business acumen ensures you can translate numbers into actionable strategies that benefit the wider organisation. Exceptional leadership skills are needed to inspire high-performing teams while nurturing individual development within a collaborative environment. Outstanding stakeholder management abilities combined with clear communication skills allow you to influence decisions at all levels of the business effectively. Prior experience in external audit (Big 4 or equivalent) would be considered a strong advantage for this position.
