20 yearsJob Description : SECURITY DIRECTOR PAN EAST AFRICA Looking for ex Indian army Major or above Develop and execute a comprehensive logistics security and safety strategy aligned with business objectives and stakeholder/client requirements. Lead strategic planning for security, safety, and administration, integrating risk management, mobility, and transportation logistics considerations. Establish and continuously refine security and safety frameworks, policies, and procedures across all logistics facilities and operations. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging critical thinking and data?driven analysis to enhance performance and reduce incidents. Conduct security risk assessments with a specific focus on urban and complex environments. Develop and oversee mitigation plans, including prevention strategies through environmental design and integration of security requirements into engineering and urban planning. Collaborate with architects, planners, and engineering teams to discretely embed security solutions into new developments, facilities, and mobility/transport systems. Design and manage physical security programs, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, perimeter protection, and secure loading/unloading processes. Direct the work of security design consultants to ensure strategic alignment and effective implementation of security technology and systems. Implement innovative security technologies, control center operations, and incident management platforms to support logistics operations. Ensure security design supports community safety, mobility efficiency, and client expectations. Develop secure route plans and transport security protocols, including risk mapping, driver procedures, and vehicle security standards. Oversee fleet and mobility?related security, including checks, seals, GPS tracking, secure stops, and movement control. Optimize transportation logistics and mobility solutions to improve efficiency while maintaining top safety and security standards. Establish and maintain emergency response and crisis management plans, including scenarios such as hijacking, cargo theft, hazardous materials, bomb threats, civil unrest, and major operational disruptions. Lead the response to critical incidents, coordinating with stakeholders/clients, law enforcement, emergency services, and internal teams. Ensure comprehensive incident documentation, root?cause analysis, implementation of corrective actions, and incorporation of lessons learned. Conduct drills and exercises where required. Establish and maintain governance frameworks ensuring accountability, effective decision?making, and compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and stakeholder/client requirements. Oversee administrative functions related to safety and security, including documentation, reporting, internal audits, and regulatory compliance. Develop and maintain security and safety organizational structures, closing operational gaps and enhancing team performance. Manage department budgets, cost optimization initiatives, and performance metrics to support profitability and operational efficiency. Serve as the primary liaison for safety and security with stakeholders/clients, business partners, and relevant authorities. Manage high?level relationships with government bodies, law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and strategic partners. Support account management activities to ensure client satisfaction, retention, and long?term partnership success. Represent the organization in public forums, industry events, and stakeholder meetings as required. Select, oversee, and evaluate security service providers, technology vendors, and consultants supporting logistics operations. Negotiate contracts and service level agreements, ensuring high quality, cost?effectiveness, and alignment with stakeholder/client standards. Monitor vendor performance using KPIs and drive corrective actions when necessary. Bachelor’s degree (Security Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics Management, Business Administration, or a related field). Additional studies in Industrial Engineering, security, safety, investigations, and crisis management are highly valued. Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in security, safety, and administration across multinational and complex environments. Proven track record establishing and mobilizing new safety and security departments and frameworks in large, complex organizations. Significant experience managing large?scale operations, including engineering / construction environments (essential) and/or multi?site security contracts. Experience working closely with government entities, including Ministries, security services, and regulatory authorities, and managing critical and confidential assignments. Background in transport, mobility, and fleet/logistics?related safety and security is strongly preferred. Strategic planning and execution. Strong problem?solving and critical thinking capabilities. Highly detail?oriented and organized; able to manage multiple complex initiatives concurrently. Effective decision?making and identification of improvement opportunities. Team motivation, coaching, and positive culture building. strong communication and negotiation skills in both languages. Security and safety operations, including strategy, compliance, and crisis management. Legal and administrative operations, policy development, regulatory compliance, and internal audits. Public relations and stakeholder/client management, including high?level account management. Crisis intervention and emergency response. Training and development for security teams, CPO programs, and specialized units. Security technology and design, including integration into urban and community environments. Governance and performance management frameworks to ensure accountability and effective decision?making.
